Katarungang Pambarangay (KP) Training

The Katarungang Pambarangay (KP) Training for Lupon Chairpersons, Lupon Secretaries, and Lupong Tagapamayapa Members was successfully conducted on September 22, 2025, at the Municipal Gymnasium, Lake Sebu.

The training began with the rationale delivered by MLGOO Deomedina C. Magdato, followed by a comprehensive discussion from Atty. Michelle Anne P. Viejo, Attorney V / Provincial Officer, NAPOLCOM 12 – South Cotabato, who served as the resource person. Atty. Viejo tackled the Katarungang Pambarangay Law and the Community and Service-Oriented Policing (CSOP) for Barangays, while participants were able to raise their questions and queries on KP processes and procedures, making the session interactive and responsive to their actual needs.

The event was facilitated by the DILG Secretariat, ensuring the smooth flow of the program and active participation of all attendees. It concluded with closing messages from representatives of Barangay Captains, Lupon Secretaries, and Lupon Members, followed by the presentation of certificates to the participants.

This training was made successful through the continuous support of Hon. Mayor Antonio G. Fungan Jr., reflecting the municipal government’s commitment to strengthening local justice systems and promoting peaceful dispute resolution at the barangay level.

Barangay Development Planning (BDP) Workshop – Barangay Poblacion

Barangay Poblacion successfully conducted its Barangay Development Planning (BDP) Workshop on September 20–21, 2025, at Sa Balai Lake View Resort.

The activity was facilitated by MLGOO Deomedina C. Magdato, who discussed the rationale of BDP, its formulation process, and guided participants in the SWOT Analysis across the different sectors: Social, Economic, Environment, Infrastructural, and Institutional. The presentations on the LGU Profile, Vision, Development Trends, and the Executive-Legislative Agenda (ELA)/AIP 2025 were delivered by Mercy Grace Adon, MPDO Staff, while MPDC EnP. Zerimie O. Pilapil addressed participants’ inquiries and provided additional guidance.

The workshop concluded with a closing message from Hon. Jade M. Baay, who expressed his support for the betterment of Barangay Poblacion through participatory and inclusive development planning.

This participatory workshop ensures that the priorities of the barangay are aligned with municipal and national goals, reinforcing the community’s vision for inclusive and sustainable development.

The DILG Lake Sebu Kaagapay Staff actively participated in the Re-Orientation on DILG PPAs and Various Compliances, ISO Implementation, and POC Audit, conducted by the DILG South Cotabato Provincial Office.

This two-day activity gathered Kaagapays (Field Officers Staff), City/Municipal Local Government Operations Officers (C/MLGOOs), and Provincial Focal Persons to enhance knowledge, strengthen technical capacities, and deepen understanding of the Department’s mandates.

The participation of the Lake Sebu Kaagapay Staff was made possible through the support of Hon. Mayor Antonio G. Fungan, Jr., affirming the Municipal Government’s commitment to continuous learning, collaboration, and the delivery of quality service towards good local governance.
