Artisan Trunk Show Launches in Celebration of Philippine Creative Industries Month

On September 6, 2025, the The Dreamweavers Collective-Tboli Community Library and Culture Hub, in partnership with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Lake Sebu's Local Economic Investment and Promotions Office (LEIPO), hosted an Artisan Trunk Show and Sale at the Tboli Library and Culture Hub. This event marks the beginning of the 12-Week Artisan Showcase, running from September 6 to November 22, 2025, in celebration of Philippine Creative Industries Month.

Artisans from the Lake Sebu area participated in the event, organized by The Dreamweaver Collective in collaboration with The Tboli Community Library and Culture Hub. This initiative aims to empower local artisans, preserve cultural heritage, and promote their products to a broader audience.

In a remarkable display of talent and demand, the artisans generated approximately P48,000.00 in sales within just half a day.

A special acknowledgment goes to Ms. Cecile Castillion-Weinstein, the founder of The Dreamweavers Collective, and Ms. Prima Guipo-Hower, co-founder of The Tboli Community Library and Culture Hub, for their leadership in organizing this event. Appreciation also goes to the buyers for their support and to Hon. Antonio G. Fungan, Jr., Mayor of Lake Sebu, for his commitment to enhancing the economic prospects of local artisans.

3rd Provincial CIBP Coordination Meeting, Roadshow, and Data Validation Overview

On September 2, 2025, representatives from the Local Government Unit of Lake Sebu participated in the 3rd Provincial CIBP Coordination Meeting, Roadshow, and Data Validation. This event took place at Habi Hotel in the City of Koronadal.

The delegation from Lake Sebu included:

- Mr. Richie Tambucong - Municipal Administrator
- Mr. Michael Angelo Yambok, LPT, MPA - TOO1/LEDIPO Designate
- Ms. Sarah Jane Cayugan - Executive Transition Officer/Admin Office Staff
- Ms. Roxanne Limbangan - CMCI Focal Person
- Ms. Elizabeth Aronales - MPDO Staff
- Mr. Hernani Blonto - BPLO Staff

This meeting was organized by the Provincial Government of South Cotabato, through the South Cotabato Economic Investment and Promotion Center, and aimed to emphasize the province's economic index and facilitate preparations for the CIBP ranking.

Resource persons from the DTI Central Office CIG Bureau of Competitiveness Development were also in attendance (through Zoom), offering valuable insights.

Our appreciation to Mr. Tyron Jann B. Villanueva, RN, MPA, the Development Management Officer IV/SCEEMO General Manager Designate, and his staff for facilitating the meeting.

The 3rd PFRESPI ASEAN Real Estate Summit took place on August 26, 2025, organized by the Provincial Government of South Cotabato in collaboration with the Philippine Federation of Real Estate Service Practitioners, Inc. (PFRESPI). The event was held at the Convention Center, The Farm @ Carpenter Hills.

This summit brought together national and international real estate brokers and investors from the ASEAN network, providing a valuable platform to highlight investment opportunities and growth potential within South Cotabato.

Mr. Michael Angelo L. Yambok, LPT, MPA, who serves as the Tourism Operations Officer 1 and Designate Local Economic Development Investment and Promotions Officer (LEDIPO), represented the Local
Government Unit of Lake Sebu. He discussed key investment areas in Lake Sebu, focusing on eco-cultural tourism, agro-tourism, and the creative industries.

Acknowledgment is also accorded to the support of the Local Government Unit of Lake Sebu, particularly under the leadership of Municipal Mayor Hon. Antonio G. Fungan, Jr., for promoting the economic development initiatives of the municipality.
