The celebration of National Reservist Week is rooted in Proclamation No. 1892 (1979), which declared September 1 of every year as "Araw ng Laang-Kawal Pilipino" (Reservist Day) to recognize the invaluable role of military reservists in nation-building.

Later, Proclamation No. 627 (1995) expanded the observance by declaring the period from September 3 to 10 as "Linggo ng Laang-Kawal Pilipino" (National Reservist Week) to promote greater public awareness and appreciation of the AFP Reserve Force and its vital contribution to national defense, disaster response, and community service.

This coming September, let us celebrate our AFP Reservists—ordinary citizens with an extraordinary commitment to serve the nation.

As we commemorate the 47th National Reservist Week, we honor the dedication, patriotism, and readiness of every reservist who stands prepared to answer the call of duty in times of peace, crisis, and national emergencies.

The Alpha Company of the 206th Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion attended the 1st Monday of the Month of July 2026 Flag Raising Ceremony infront of the Municipal Hall of Lasam, Cagayan.

The attendees from the Alpha Coy are 2LT JORGEE CONCISO PA (RES), Executive Officer and 5 Enlisted Personnel.

The unit's attendance to the flag raising ceremony is to express patriotism, respect, and love for one's country.

Enlisted Personnel of the 206th Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion had completed the Urban Combat Training conducted at the Headquarters of 17th Infantry "Do or Die" Battalion, Philippine Army at Bangag, Lallo, Cagayan.

The practical exercise gave the Reservists of 206 RRIBn direct experience in Urban Combat Operations. They applied Tactical Movement, Room-Clearing Procedures, Team Coordination, Basic Combat Life Saver skills, and other core combat tasks in realistic scenarios.

Through this demanding training, the 206th RRIBn sharpened their expertise, built operational capability and raised readiness as a Reserve Force.

This activity reflects the Philippine Army's commitment to produce disciplined, well-trained, mission-ready Reservists who can augment regular troops in national defense, disaster response, and other emergency operations needed.

The members of the Alpha Company of the 206th Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion renders duty at Lasam Public Market at Centro, Lasam, Cagayan today, 14 June 2026.

The Sangguniang Bayan of Lasam approved Resolution No. 2026-062 dated 25 May 2026, "A Resolution enjoining and authorizing the active participation of Reservists of the Philippine Army, Armed Forces of the Philippines in Lasam, Cagayan in Maintaining Public Order, Safety, and Traffic Management during Sunday Market Days at the Lasam Public Market".

The said Resolution was sponsored by Sangguniang Bayan member, Hon. Reynaldo A. Viernes.

The thrust and confidence given to the 206th Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion shows, "ang Reserve Force ay hindi reserba lang - sila ay sagot sa hamon ng panahon dahil ang tunay na depensa ng Bayan, hindi lang nasa uniporme - nasa puso ng bawat Pilipinong handang maglingkod".

Look. The 206th Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion (RRIBn) through the Alpha Company headed by MAJ DOMINGO V REYES JR PA (RES) and Battalion S3 LTC FRANCISCO OCAMPO PA (RES) actively participated in the Motorcade in commemoration of the 76th Founding Anniversary of the Municipality of Lasam, Cagayan on 13 June 2026. Likewise, with them are troops from 17th Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army.

The Motorcade was attended by the different organizations in the locality led by the Offices of the Municipal Mayor and Vice-Mayor and the municipal employees.

After the Motorcade, the Gala Night was conducted in the municipal gymnasium which talents were show cases and awards were given to the selected employees and local organizations as recognitions to their contributions and out of the box initiatives.

The Alpha Company of the 206th Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion (RRIBn) join the 128th Philippine Independence Day at Natalged Park in the Municipality of Lasam, Cagayan today, 12 June 2026.

The Alpha Company Commander MAJ DOMINGO V REYES JR PA (RES) lead his troops in attending the celebration in the Municipality of Lasam in commemoration of the 128th Independence Day, with him is his Ex-O 2LT JORGEE CONCISO PA (RES) and Enlisted Personnel of the said unit.

The activity is initiated by the Municipal Government headed by Hon. Mayor Dan Dexter A. Agatep which also attended by the 206th RRIBn S3 and S4 LTC FRANCISCO OCAMPO PA (RES) and MAJ EDMUND SORIANO PA (RES).

Other attendees are from the 17IB PA, PNP, BFP, municipal employees, barangay officials, ROTC cadets of CSU-Lasam Campus and other local organizations.

The attendance of the 206th RRIBn to the 128th Independence Day shows, "Hindi lang ito paggunita sa nakaraan-ito'y palaala na ang kalayaan ay paninindigan, araw-araw".
