𝐏𝐔𝐁𝐋𝐈𝐂 𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐘 || 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫-𝐀𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐓𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐞𝐟𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐄𝐱𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

The public is hereby informed that the Inter-Agency Territorial Defense Operations (IA-TDO) Exercise 2026 will be conducted on August 19–20, 2026, in selected areas of Sulu and Basilan.

The exercise is a planned and coordinated simulation activity involving the Armed Forces of the Philippines, local government units, law enforcement agencies, emergency response organizations, and other concerned government agencies. It aims to strengthen inter-agency coordination, communication, and operational readiness in responding to territorial defense, peace and order, public safety, crisis management, and other emergency situations.

During the exercise, the public may observe increased movement of military and government personnel, vehicles, vessels, emergency responders, and other participating elements, as well as simulated operational and emergency response activities in designated exercise areas.

The public is advised not to be alarmed and to remain calm. All activities are part of the scheduled exercise and will be conducted with appropriate safety and security measures.

Residents are likewise requested to cooperate with authorities, observe safety instructions, and avoid entering designated exercise areas when advised by personnel on the ground.

The cooperation and understanding of the public are highly appreciated as government agencies work together to enhance preparedness and strengthen the collective capacity to protect our communities.

PUBLIC ADVISORY | INTER-AGENCY TERRITORIAL DEFENSE OPERATIONS EXERCISE 2026

The 1101st Infantry (Gagandilan) Brigade, 11th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, in coordination with the Military, Security Forces, Local Government Units (LGUs), Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), and other concerned government agencies, will conduct the Inter-Agency Territorial Defense Operations (IA-TDO) Exercise 2026 on 20 August 2026 in selected areas of Basilan Province.

Exercise Areas:
• Brgy. Buli-Buli, Sumisip
• Brgy. Tipo-Tipo Proper, Tipo-Tipo
• Brgys. Limook, Balobo, Dangkalan, and Magwakit, Lamitan City

The exercise is a planned and coordinated simulation designed to strengthen inter-agency coordination, communication, interoperability, and operational readiness in responding to possible threats and emergency situations as part of territorial defense.

TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC
Residents and motorists in and around the designated exercise areas may observe increased movement of military and security personnel, vehicles, and other government responders.

The public is also advised NOT TO BE ALARMED by possible simulated gunshots, artillery/fire support sounds, explosions or other simulated explosive effects that may be heard during the exercise.

PLEASE REMAIN CALM, FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS OF AUTHORITIES, AND AVOID ENTERING DESIGNATED EXERCISE AREAS.

Rest assured that these activities are part of a scheduled exercise and will be conducted under appropriate safety, security, and control measures.

LOOK | 18IB Builds Youth Camaraderie Through Team Building

The 18th Infantry (Deo et Patria) Battalion facilitated a team-building activity for the youth of the Municipality of Tuburan, led by Secretary Hanan S. Kabukisan, LPT, MAEd, LYDO with the support of the Youth for Peace Movement of Basilan, headed by Ms. Jocelyn A. Jalilul, MATE-CAR.

In celebration of Linggo ng Kabataan, with the theme “Different Contexts, Common Aspirations,” the activity strengthened camaraderie, teamwork, and responsibility among Tuburan’s youth—the community’s future leaders and catalysts for positive change.

The 18th Infantry (Deo et Patria) Battalion, in coordination with Secretary HANAN S. KABUKISAN, LPT, MAEd, LYDO, conducted lectures on PCVE, WPS, and AFPSAT for the youth of Tuburan, Basilan. The activity aimed to strengthen awareness, patriotism, and civic responsibility, inspiring the youth to become active partners in peace and development.

🤝 18IB FACILITATES AMICABLE SETTLEMENT FOR LASTING PEACE

The 18th Infantry (Deo et Patria) Battalion facilitated the Amicable Settlement between the Dulla and Ballaho families in Brgy. Balas, Lamitan City, Basilan. Led by Hon. Mujiv S. Hataman, Provincial Governor of Basilan, and Hon. Roderick H. Furigay, City Mayor of Lamitan, with the support of the PNP, BLGU, and key stakeholders, the dialogue reaffirmed that unity, reconciliation, and cooperation are the foundations of lasting peace and a stronger Basilan.
