Segundo, is among the government offices and organizations currently taking part in the 81หขแต— Victory Day Parade in Kiangan, Ifugao.

Carrying this yearโ€™s theme, โ€œYesterdayโ€™s Bravery; Todayโ€™s Freedom; and Tomorrowโ€™s Enduring Peace,โ€ the celebration aims to honor the courage and sacrifices of those who fought for freedom, recognize the invaluable legacy of the veterans, and reaffirm the collective commitment to sustaining peace for generations to come.

The celebration brings together government agencies, local stakeholders, and members of the community in remembering the courage and sacrifices that paved the way for freedom and in reaffirming the collective commitment to lasting peace.

The presence of the veterans adds significance to the celebration, as they stand as living reminders of the valor, resilience, and sacrifices behind one of the most important chapters in the nationโ€™s history. Their participation makes the event not only a remembrance of the past, but also a bridge connecting the heroism of yesterday to the hopes of tomorrow.

Gracing the occasion is Secretary Mel Senen S. Sarmiento, Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation and Unity (OPAPRU), who is serving as the Guest of Honor and Speaker.

The activity highlights Kianganโ€™s significant place in Philippine history, where General Tomoyuki Yamash*ta, commander of the Japanese Imperial Army in the Philippines, surrendered on September 2, 1945.

In commemoration of this historic event, September 2 is observed as a Special Non-Working Holiday in the Province of Ifugao pursuant to Republic Act No. 1120.

As the event continues, the agency joins the people of Ifugao in honoring the bravery of yesterday, cherishing the freedom of today, and working toward a more peaceful tomorrow. #

In a continuing effort to strengthen the capacity and productivity of Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Organizations (ARBOs), the Department of Agrarian Reform Provincial Office of Ifugao (DARPO-Ifugao), led by Officer-in-Charge Provincial Agrarian Reform Program Officer II Lunecia C. Segundo, facilitated the turnover of Farm Machineries and Equipment (FMEs) to Posnaan ARB, Inc. during a turnover ceremony held on August 05, 2026, at Corba, Posnaan, Aguinaldo, Ifugao.

Funded under DARโ€™s Enhanced Partnership Against Hunger and Poverty (EPAHP) Program, the โ‚ฑ71,200.00 second and final tranche consisted of one (1) crawler and one (1) power tiller. This completed the organizationโ€™s total โ‚ฑ300,000.00 assistance, following the initial โ‚ฑ228,800.00 turnover on February 25, 2026.

EPAHP Coordinator Alona A. Padilla emphasized that Posnaan ARB, Inc. is a new ARBO under the program and encouraged the members to maximize the assistance for productive and sustainable livelihood activities.

Meanwhile, Chief Agrarian Reform Program Officer (CARPO) Leonor C. Bascos, who played a key role in the establishment of the organization, challenged the members to bring their products to the market and explore opportunities linked to tourism. She encouraged them to develop at least one distinct Posnaan product or souvenir that could be offered to visitors.

โ€œAdda kuma iti ma-develop nga uray maysa man laeng a produkto yo nga gatangen dagiti tattao. Adda kuma met iti pasalubong nga naggapu Posnaan. Ituloy yo nga itaray nga usto daytoy organisasyon yo tapno iti kasta ket saan a mapabilang iti non-functional nga organisasyon.โ€

One of the highlights of the activity was the signing of the Trust Agreement, signifying the organizationโ€™s commitment to the proper management and utilization of the assistance. The provision of FMEs is expected to improve farm efficiency, reduce reliance on manual labor, boost productivity, and support sustainable livelihood activities that can generate additional income for the organization and its members.

In response, Salina C. Ayongchi, President of Posnaan ARB, Inc., expressed her gratitude to DAR and assured that the organization will maximize the assistance, work together to grow its enterprise, and strengthen the organization for the benefit of its members.
