📢MLMES Community Participates in Nationwide Earthquake Drill

Mongilit Ligmayo Memorial Elementary School successfully conducted the First Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on March 12, 2026, at 9:00 AM, with the participation of Barangay Captain Jaime B. Palawe, Barangay DRRM Committee member Eugene T. Dulnuan, SK Chairman Carlo Tubaran, School Head Monaliza H. Guevarra along with the teachers, pupils, and the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts First Aid Team.

The drill began when Hon. Eugene Dulnuan sounded the school bell for one minute, signaling the start of the earthquake scenario. After the bell stopped ringing, the learners began evacuating their classrooms. Barangay Captain Jaime B. Palawe then used a megaphone to guide and instruct the pupils as they safely proceeded, accompanied by their teachers, to the designated evacuation area.

After the evacuation, a roll call was conducted to account for all learners and personnel. During the simulation, two victims were reported as part of the emergency scenario. The Incident Commander, Beverly L. Bottad, immediately called the First Aid Team to respond. The team promptly performed proper first aid procedures, including bandaging and safely carrying the victims, before turning them over to the Barangay Rescue Team for further assistance.

After the drill, Barangay Captain Jaime Palawe and Hon. Eugene T. Dulnuan conducted an evaluation of the activity. They commended the participants for their cooperation and preparedness while also providing constructive suggestions to further improve future drills and strengthen the community’s response during real emergency situations.

The success of the drill demonstrates the school community’s readiness and coordination, while also strengthening disaster awareness, improving emergency response skills, and ensuring the safety of pupils and staff during real-life earthquake situations.

It’s a Wrap!

Mongilit Ligmayo Memorial Elementary School successfully concluded its two-day Joint BSP and GSP Investiture Ceremony and Encampment held on February 27–28, 2026.

On February 27, 2026, the Investiture Ceremony was formally conducted and invested by Madam Jocelyn G. Dominong, District GSP Coordinator. The ceremony marked an important milestone for our young scouts as they took their oath and embraced their responsibilities as members of the scouting movement.

At 3:00 in the afternoon, the encampment activities officially commenced. The scouts actively participated in “Ogradi Says,” facilitated by Sir Eugene K. Talupa, School BSP Coordinator, and an obstacle race facilitated by Madam Beverly L. Bottad, School GSP Coordinator. These activities promoted teamwork, cooperation, and camaraderie among the participants.

At 6:30 in the evening, the Scout Coordinators, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, supportive parents, and BLGU officials gathered for the campfire activity. The program included the lighting of the firewoods, scout presentations, and yells, all of which strengthened unity and fellowship within the scouting community.

On February 28, 2026, at 6:30 in the morning, the scouts and coordinators began the day with a morning exercise, followed by a Clean-Up Drive as part of their duty and service to the school community.

The success of these concluded activities was made possible through the strong support and collective effort of the MLMES Teaching Staffs headed by School Principal, Madam Monaliza H. Guevarra; the BLGU officials led by Barangay Captain Jaime B. Palawe; and IPMR Carlito O. Laguna, who initiated the installation of the module and the obstacle race stations together with Barangay council Lito Daguio and Barangay Tanod Pedro Dag-o, Pedro Bellang and Pedro Wahigon. Appreciation is also extended to the Peace and Order Committee, led by Hon. Marvin D. Puhi, and Barangay Tanod Teofilo N. Dulnuan, Rodrigo Modne, and Pedro Dag-o who stayed awake throughout the night to ensure the safety and security of the scouts.

Indeed, the activity was a remarkable success, filled with teamwork, leadership, service, and unity.

Another great work of hands! 💪🏼

Today, our stakeholders—parents, the RIC, and the Women’s Organization—once again shared their time, talents, and treasures for the Brigada this first quarter. Some made benches to be used during the reading time of the learners, while others cut grasses to ensure the cleanliness and safety of the school environment.

Their combined efforts not only improved the facilities but also reflected the spirit of unity and bayanihan that strengthens the school community. MLMES extends its heartfelt gratitude to all stakeholders for their unwavering support, which continues to inspire and motivate learners to strive for excellence in a safe and nurturing environment.

Kudos to all! God bless everyone!! 🥰🙏🏼
