With the leadership and unwavering support of Governor Cecilia Araneta Marcos, the Technical Training phase of the JobStart Philippines Program has officially begun.

The JobStart Philippines Program, an initiative of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in partnership with the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte โ€“ Public Employment Service Office (PGIN-PESO), aims to strengthen the employability of young jobseekers aged 18โ€“24 by providing them with essential skills, knowledge, and hands-on workplace experience to help them secure quality employment.

On August 17โ€“18, 2026, PGIN-PESO, together with DOLE, conducted monitoring visits to JobStart trainees undergoing technical training with partner companies.
Technical training began on August 10, 2026, for trainees deployed to SINOPRO Enterprises OPC, Martin Development Corporation, and Manulife Philippines. Meanwhile, trainees assigned to the Chua Consolidated Group of Companies commenced their technical training on August 17, 2026. The group is composed of North Point Alliance Motors Corporation (Mitsubishi Ilocos), NENRYO Corporation (Shell), Hands-On Auto Corporation (Yokohama), and Blue Banana Corporation (Sharetea).

Through the continued partnership between government agencies and industry partners, the JobStart Philippines Program remains committed to providing young jobseekers with valuable opportunities to develop their skills, gain meaningful workplace experience, and become better prepared for employment. This collaboration reflects a shared commitment to equipping the youth with the knowledge and skills they need to pursue sustainable career opportunities.

The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte โ€“ Public Employment Service Office (PGIN-PESO), under the leadership of Governor Cecilia Araneta Marcos, continues to provide employment opportunities and assistance to Ilocanos.

On August 5, 2026, the distribution of SPES salaries and Employment Assistance Fund (EAF) was held at the Provincial Capitol Annex Function Hall, benefiting students and jobseekers from various communities.

The Special Program for the Employment of Students (SPES) provides qualified students with temporary employment opportunities to gain practical work experience, develop workplace skills, contribute to public service, and receive financial assistance for their education.
Under SPES-DOLE, 18 beneficiaries completed 20 days of employment and received โ‚ฑ7,669.60 each, with 60% funded by PGIN as its counterpart contribution to DOLE. Meanwhile, under SPES-PGIN, 88 beneficiaries completed 10 days of employment in various PGIN offices and received โ‚ฑ6,391.40 each, fully funded by the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte.

The Employment Assistance Fund (EAF), implemented in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), provides financial assistance to qualified jobseekers to help address employment-related expenses and support their pursuit of suitable employment opportunities. A total of 46 jobseekers received โ‚ฑ7,000 each under the program.

The activity was graced by Governor Cecilia Araneta Marcos, Vice Governor Matthew Marcos Manotoc, SP Atty. RJ Fariรฑas, SP Marlon Sales, SP Dr. Medeldorf Gaoat, SP Cheryll B. Tabangay, and DSWD Provincial SLP Coordinator Ms. Analiza V. Calapini.

Through these programs, PGIN-PESO continues to strengthen accessible employment services and connect Ilocanos with opportunities for employment, skills development, and livelihood support.
