To empower the next generation of the Ilocano workforce, Mariano Marcos State University partnered with the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte through Public Employment Service Office (PGIN-PESO) to champion the career readiness of young professionals. This collaboration bridges the gap between education and employment, ensuring home-grown talents are fully equipped to thrive in both local and global industries. By bringing premium career opportunities directly to the province, this partnership paves the way for a highly competitive workforce.
As a direct result of this ongoing commitment, a Pre-employment Coaching seminar was conducted for the graduating class of 2026 on May 18β19, 2026. The two-day initiative featured a dynamic symposium and hands-on workshops led by corporate industry leaders from Alorica and Accenture, alongside prominent leaders from the university's own colleges. Together, they seamlessly transformed academic foundation into real-world application, equipping graduating seniors with high-impact workplace readiness strategies.
Building on this solid preparation, a massive Job Fair was successfully launched on May 25, 2026, at Robinsons Ilocos, drawing over 2,000 ambitious student applicants. Organized alongside DOLE, DSWD, SSS, PhilHealth, NBI, PSA, TESDA, and Robinsons Ilocos, the event connected graduates with over 1,000 job vacancies from 41 employers. To streamline the onboarding process, eight (8) integrated government one-stop-shop booths provided instant on-site document processing. This setup yielded immediate results, as an initial 67 Hired-on-the-Spot (HOTS) jobseekers were successfully assisted through the DSWD Employment Assistance Fund (EAF).
