The Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte โ Environment and Natural Resources Office (PGIN-ENRO) successfully launched the ๐๐๐: ๐๐ข๐๐ ๐, ๐๐ข๐ฏ๐๐ซ ๐ญ๐จ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐จ๐๐ฌ๐ญ๐๐ฅ ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ง-๐ฎ๐ฉ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐-๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฐ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ at Brgy. Baruyen, Bangui, Ilocos Norte, bringing together ๐๐๐ ๐ฉ๐๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐๐ข๐ฉ๐๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ from government agencies, local government units, partner organizations, communities, and volunteer groups in a collective effort to protect, conserve, and restore the environmentโfrom the uplands and rivers to our coastal and marine ecosystems.
The launching of the R2R Initiative was undertaken in coordination with the Office of the Presidential Assistant for Northern Luzon (OPANL) through ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐ฆ๐๐ฅ๐ ๐. ๐๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ ๐ข๐จ, whose strong advocacy for environmental protection and sustainable development continues to foster collaboration among government institutions, communities, and various sectors. The initiative was likewise supported by the ๐๐๐๐ข๐๐ ๐จ๐ ๐
๐ข๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐๐ข๐ฌ๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐๐ญ ๐๐๐ฉ๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐๐ง๐ญ๐๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ ๐๐๐ง๐๐ซ๐จ ๐๐๐ซ๐๐จ๐ฌ and conducted in close coordination with ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ ๐ฎ๐ข, headed by ๐๐จ๐ง. ๐๐๐ง๐ญ๐จ๐ง ๐๐๐ฐ๐ซ๐๐ง๐๐ ๐. ๐๐๐ซ๐ฏ๐ข๐๐, and with the support of ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ง๐ ๐ฎ๐ข, headed by ๐๐ซ. ๐๐ฅ๐ฆ๐๐ซ ๐๐๐ซ๐ฆ๐จ๐ฌ๐, the ๐๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐ ๐๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ ๐จ๐ ๐๐ฅ๐จ๐๐จ๐ฌ ๐๐จ๐ซ๐ญ๐, and other participating organizations and stakeholders, reflecting a shared commitment to environmental stewardship, conservation, community participation, and the protection of Ilocos Norteโs natural resources for cleaner, greener, and more climate-resilient communities.
The initiative supports the continuing environmental efforts of the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte, under the leadership of ๐๐จ๐ง. ๐๐๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐๐ซ๐๐ง๐๐ญ๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐๐จ๐ฌ, Governor of Ilocos Norte. Discussions are also underway on the possible institutionalization of the R2R Initiative through an Executive Order, paving the way for sustained, coordinated, and province-wide environmental action while strengthening the collective commitment to protect Ilocos Norteโs natural resourcesโfrom ridge to river to reef.
The program was graced by ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐ฆ๐๐ฅ๐ ๐. ๐๐๐ฆ๐ข๐ ๐ข๐จ of OPANL, who delivered a message emphasizing the importance of partnership, shared responsibility, and collective action in safeguarding the environment. Her message highlighted that meaningful and lasting environmental protection can be achieved when the government, communities, organizations, and individuals work together toward a common goal.

Through their messages, they reaffirmed their respective organizationsโ commitment and continued support for the R2R Initiative, underscoring the importance of sustained collaboration among government agencies, local communities, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders toward a cleaner, greener, and more resilient Ilocos Norte.
