PNP ARRESTS NO. 3 REGIONAL MOST WANTED PERSON IN NEGROS ORIENTAL

The Philippine National Police (PNP) successfully arrested the No. 3 Regional Most Wanted Person during a law enforcement operation conducted in Barangay Kalamtukan, Bayawan City, Negros Oriental, on June 5, 2026.

The operation led to the apprehension of a 31-year-old Filipino male, identified by the alias “Ontoy,” a resident of the said barangay. He was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court in Bayawan City for R**e in Relation to Republic Act No. 7610, with no bail recommended. The warrant was issued in November 2015.

The arrest was carried out by personnel of the Bayawan City Police Station Warrant Section through an Oplan Tracker operation following sustained monitoring and validation efforts.

PNP SEIZES PHP 22.5M WORTH OF CI******ES, ARRESTS 8 IN ANTI-SMUGGLING OPERATION IN DAVAO

The Philippine National Police (PNP) continues to strengthen its enforcement posture against economic crimes, with a renewed focus on disrupting smuggling routes and protecting legitimate trade under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, a key pillar of the PNP Focused Agenda.

In support of the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., law enforcement units have intensified coordinated maritime and land-based operations to intercept illicit goods before they reach local markets.

On June 4, 2026, a coordinated operation led by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), with support from other police units, resulted in the interception of a large shipment of alleged smuggled ci******es in Carmen, Davao del Norte.

Authorities described the operation as a targeted interdiction effort based on intelligence monitoring of suspected cross-regional transport routes. The operation led to the arrest of eight individuals identified through aliases and the seizure of approximately 900 master cases of ci******es with an estimated value of PHP 22.5 million.

PNP ARRESTS 3 IN TUGUEGARAO CRUDE OIL THEFT; FI****MS, SHABU SEIZED

The Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of PNP Chief, PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested three individuals and seized fi****ms, equipment allegedly used in crude oil theft, and suspected illegal drugs during an operation conducted on June 5, 2026, in Brgy. Libag Norte, Tuguegarao City.

Acting on information obtained through CCTV surveillance from the Tuguegarao Command Center, authorities monitored a white Hi-Ace commuter van allegedly linked to a series of crude oil theft incidents in the city. Upon reaching Maharlika Highway in Brgy. Libag Norte, one of the occupants was observed entering the perimeter of a facility, prompting an immediate police response and the deployment of SWAT units, which resulted in the arrest of three male suspects from Tabuk City, Kalinga.

Recovered from the suspects were two improvised caliber .22 rifles, 12 rounds of ammunition, two mobile phones, 11 empty gallons, two hoses believed to have been used for siphoning crude oil, and a vehicle license plate. Authorities also recovered five heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu, all of which were properly secured for forensic examination.

All recovered items were inventoried at the scene in the presence of the suspects, a barangay official, and a representative from the Department of Justice, in accordance with established procedures. The suspects were subsequently brought to P*P Downtown for documentation and further investigation.

The operation underscores the PNP’s Focused Agenda, a transformation framework aimed at making police service more responsive and accountable, particularly through Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which strengthens field response and intelligence-driven actions against theft and other illegal activities affecting critical resources and public welfare.

The suspects will face charges for Attempted Theft, violation of Republic Act No. 10591 (Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act), and violation of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002). Further investigation is ongoing to identify possible accomplices and determine links to other related incidents.

PNP REPORTS 16% DROP IN 8 FOCUS CRIMES NATIONWIDE

The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported a significant decline in the country’s eight focus crimes, recording a 15.99% reduction nationwide during the period of April 6 to June 3, 2026, compared with the February 6 to April 5, 2026 monitoring period.

PNP data showed that incidents involving the eight focus crimes decreased from 5,811 cases to 4,882 cases, translating to 929 fewer incidents nationwide. The reduction was recorded across all monitored crime categories, with notable decreases in r**e, physical injury, carnapping of motor vehicles, carnapping of motorcycles, robbery, theft, homicide, and murder.

The accomplishment coincided with the implementation of the Safer Cities Initiative under the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (E-MPO) program, launched on April 6, 2026. The initiative intensified police visibility, focused patrols, hotspot interventions, and community-based crime prevention efforts in areas identified as vulnerable to criminal activity.

The positive results are in line with the PNP Focused Agenda and support the peace and order priorities of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., aimed at making communities safer while strengthening public trust in law enforcement.

Chief, PNP, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., said the latest figures demonstrate the impact of proactive policing and strong collaboration between the police, local government units, and the public.

"Ang pagbaba ng crime incidents ay patunay na kapag tuloy-tuloy ang police presence, mabilis ang pagtugon, at aktibo ang partisipasyon ng komunidad, may positibong resulta tayong nakikita. Ngunit hindi tayo titigil dito. Our goal is not only to reduce crime statistics but to ensure that every Filipino feels safer in their homes and communities," said PGen Nartatez.

He emphasized that the gains should serve as motivation for police units nationwide to sustain their efforts and continuously improve service delivery.

"Magandang indikasyon ito na gumagana ang ating mga programa, pero kailangan nating panatilihin ang momentum. Among the eight focus crimes, r**e posted the highest decline at 30.07%, followed by physical injury at 25.18% and carnapping of motor vehicles at 25.93%, contributing significantly to the overall reduction. The PNP also noted that all eight focus crime categories registered decreases during the implementation period, reflecting sustained improvements in crime prevention and public safety efforts nationwide.

Sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., ipinakita ng Philippine National Police (PNP) na ang paglilingkod ay hindi lamang nasusukat sa pagpapatupad ng batas kundi maging sa pag-abot ng tulong sa mga nangangailangan.

Noong Hunyo 4, 2026, personal na nagtungo si PMAJ Janice R. Piga, Acting Chief ng Police Community Affairs and Development Unit (PCADU), sa isang komunidad ng mga katutubo sa Sitio Bihawo, Brgy. Villar, Botolan, Zambales upang maghatid ng mga school supplies at iba pang kagamitang pampaaralan para sa apat na kabataang naghahanda sa nalalapit na pagbubukas ng klase.

Sa gitna ng mga hamon na kinahaharap ng pamilya, ang munting tulong na ito ay naging malaking hakbang upang mapalapit ang mga kabataan sa kanilang mga pangarap.
