On January 24, 2025, the Parole and Probation Office of Ilocos Norte underwent its scheduled annual audit, conducted by representatives from the regional office. The inspection aimed to evaluate the office's compliance with established standards and ensure the efficient delivery of services. Conducted by the IQA team, the audit reviewed administrative processes, operational performance, and program implementation. The activity provided an opportunity for the office to showcase its commitment to excellence, transparency, and continuous improvement in serving its clients and the community. The successful completion of the audit reaffirmed the office's dedication to upholding the highest standards in its operations and compliance to international standard operations.

👥Outreach Activity👥

On January 16, 2025, the Parole & Probation Officers of Ilocos Norte kicked off the year with a meaningful community outreach activity in Burgos. The day began with an early community clean up drive at the Burgos Municipal Hall as part of their obligations as set fort in their probation condition. This was followed by an inspiring lecture from Vice Mayor Russell Jenald Garcia on redemption, social integration, and inclusivity, and followed by the usual Therapeutic Community sessions to support behavioral and personal growth. The program also concluded with Probation Officer Verdadero’s message on “Nurture Nature for the Future,” emphasizing environmental stewardship. This initiative emphasizes the office commitment to community service and fostering positive change.

📚Practical Hands-On Experience🗂
On the 20th day of January, 2025, Ten students of Ilocos Norte College of Arts and Trades embarked on their work immersion program at the Ilocos Norte Parole & Probation Administration. This senior high school initiative is to provide students with practical, hands-on experience in their respective fields of study, requiring them to complete 80 hours of immersion under the guidance of office staff. The program began with an orientation, where the students introduced themselves and shared their initial impressions and expectations for the experience. Afterward, each student was assigned tasks aligned with their academic focus, with the assistance and supervision of office personnel. This structure allowed the participants to gain meaningful exposure to real-world work environments, enhancing their skills and preparing them for their future careers.💼

🌿Flourishing Green Garden🌿
On January 15, 2025, the Parole and Probation Office of Ilocos Norte, in collaboration with Pollution Control Officer VPA Joegie B. Jimenez, the Provincial Government of Ilocos Norte, and the Department of Agriculture-Ilocos Norte, conducted an assessment of community vegetable gardens in various areas in the province. This activity promotes sustainable agriculture, environmental responsibility, and community development. The evaluation was held in the City of Batac and in the municipalities of Paoay, Currimao, Pinili, Badoc, Pasuquin, Bangui, and Pagudpud. Through these gardens, the activity aimed to identify outstanding efforts, share best practices, and encourage more communities to engage in environmentally friendly and productive gardening. This collective work highlighted the shared commitment of government offices and local stakeholders towards agriculture innovation and environmental stewardship in Ilocos Norte.🌎

On the afternoon of December 6, 2024, starting at 2:00 PM, compassion took center stage at the City of Batac District Jail, Ilocos Norte. With the heartfelt support of AMB Foundation, Inc., and in collaboration with the Ilocos Norte Parole and Probation Office, a life-changing medical mission brought essential medicines, medical supplies, and care to Persons Deprived of Liberty. The City of Batac Police Station ensured the safety and smooth conduct of the mission, showcasing the value of teamwork in making initiatives like this possible.
This powerful act of kindness serves as a reminder that humanity thrives when we extend care to all, regardless of circumstances. 💙
