𝗪𝗲 𝘃𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝗻𝗱 𝗩𝗔𝗪!✋🧡

As a commitment to raising public awareness of the various forms and impacts of Violence Against Women (VAW), NFA Ilocos Norte Branch Office took part in the 18-day Campaign to End VAW today.

Along with wearing the VAW Orange Shirts as a sign of support, employees participated in the Seminar / Training on VAW-Related Laws via Google Meet conducted by NFA Central Office. They discussed the following topics:
• Seminar on Violence Against Women (VAW)
• Republic Act No. 11313 – Safe Spaces Act (Bawal Bastos Law)
• Republic Act No. 7877 – Anti-Sexual Harassment Act

However, it is also important to note that VAW is not just a concern of women or the victim-survivors themselves. VAW is, in fact, a universal issue that affects all genders. Hence, the term gender-based violence.

A forum was held after the discussion to make the campaign interactive. Participants shared their ideas on how to intensify VAW-related laws.

11/24/2025 // The National Food Authority Ilocos Norte Branch Office come together to launch the 2025 18-day Campaign to End Violence Against Women during the Monday Flag Raising Ceremony with a theme "United for VAW -Free Philippines". This year's campaign reminds us that ending gender-based violence requires the strength of many to build a society where compassion, justice, and safety are shared realities for all. NFA Ilocos Norte Branch employees stand not only as witnesses but as champions of human rights and dignity.

The campaign started with a kick-off ceremony with an all cast women National Anthem and Prayer to End Violence Against Women, then proceeded to the sharing of short presentations, announcements, and messages related to the campaign and anti-VAW laws.

As the ceremony closed, it reminded that ending violence is not a one-day task - it's a continuous commitment. 🧡

In Photos: On November 21, 2025, the National Food Authority Ilocos Norte Branch Office started to display the VAW Campaign Banner at a conspicuous space of the office.

With the theme: "UNITED for a VAW-free Philippines", it aims to encourage the people in the community to partake in raising awareness about the constitutional rights of women who are undeserving of any form of violence.

The Philippines observes the 18-Day Campaign to End Violence Against Women (VAW) from November 25 to December 12, aligning with the global “16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence.” The campaign was institutionalized through Republic Act No. 10398 and extended to 18 days to include December 12, the International Day Against Trafficking.

Through the years, this campaign has become a national call to action—uniting agencies, organizations, and individuals to prevent VAW, strengthen protection systems, and promote a culture of respect and equality.
