🌊🧹 INTERNATIONAL COASTAL CLEANUP 2026 | KUMPANG BEACH 🧹🌊

A successful International Coastal Cleanup was conducted this morning at Kumpang Beach, Barangay Looc, with a total of 122 sacks of garbage collected from the coastal area. πŸŒ±πŸ’š

The activity was made possible through the leadership and participation of our Barangay Captain Hon. Jaic Ealston D. Tampus, together with the Barangay Council, Point Persons, Barangay workers, Solo Parents, Purok In-Charges, Clean and Green Team, PWD representatives, Urban Poor Association, Looc National High School, and our valued private sector partners and volunteers.

Daghang salamat sa tanan nga niapil, nitabang, ug naghatag sa ilang panahon ug kusog alang sa paglimpyo ug pagpreserbar sa atong katubigan ug palibot.

PUBLIC HEARING | PAGTUKOD OG COMMERCIAL BUILDING

Niadtong Biyernes, Septiyembre 11, 2026, nagpahigayon ang Barangay Looc og Public Hearing kabahin sa proposed construction sa commercial building nga gipanag-iya ni Mrs. Analisa Chato, nga nahimutang sa Purok Dama de Noche, Barangay Looc, Lapu-Lapu City.

Gipahigayon kini nga Public Hearing aron mapahibalo ang mga lumulupyo sa Purok Dama de Noche mahitungod sa maong proyekto ug aron hatagan sila og higayon nga makapahayag sa ilang mga pangutana, concerns, ug mga sugyot kabahin sa proposed construction.

Nanguna ug mitambong sa maong public hearing sila Hon. Jaic Ealston D. Tampus, Barangay Captain, kauban sila Hon. Joseph Dungog, Chairman, Committee on Zoning, ug Hon. Roberto Dungog, Chairman, Committee on Infrastructure, uban sa mga sakop sa Barangay Council.

Ang maong konsultasyon usa ka importante nga lakang aron masiguro ang transparency, proper consultation, ug partisipasyon sa komunidad sa mga proyekto nga mahimong makaapekto sa mga residente ug sa palibot.

Barangay Looc is pleased to officially announce our Top 5 Qualified Presidential Scholars for Barangay 2026! πŸŽ‰πŸ“š

The scholarship forms part of the β€œBawat Barangay Makikinabang: Presidential Assistance under the Socio-Civic Projects Fund (SCPF)”, implemented under DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2026-038. Under the program, β‚±100,000 is allocated for five (5) deserving scholars per barangay, with β‚±20,000 in educational assistance for each qualified beneficiary. The guidelines authorize the Barangay, through its Committee on Education, to select the five beneficiaries based on prescribed qualifications and allow additional locally adopted criteria when these are properly documented and applied fairly and transparently.

As early as May 2026, Barangay Looc publicly posted the program guidelines, qualifications, and requirements to ensure a fair and transparent application process.

From 30+ applicants, all submissions were evaluated using the official scoring guide, with the five highest-scoring applicants qualifying as scholars.

The program aims to help deserving students, especially those nearing graduation and facing financial challenges, complete their college education.

Our heartfelt gratitude to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. and the Office of the President for bringing this educational assistance directly to our barangays; to the Liga ng mga Barangay Sa Pilipinas for its role as an implementing partner; and to our ABC/Liga ng mga Barangay President of Lapu-Lapu City Jasmine "Daday" Chan, Congressman Junard "Ahong" Chan, and Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Cindi King Chan for their continued support for programs benefiting our students and communities. β€οΈπŸ’™πŸ’›

To all qualified scholars from Barangay Looc:

Please check the official list and look for the blue mark/line on the right side of the list to confirm your qualification.
All qualified applicants are advised to proceed to the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) for the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing.

BARANGAY LOOC TREE TRIMMING ACTIVITY 🌳

Today, September 7, 2026, the General Services Office (GSO) personnel conducted a tree trimming and clearing activity along the Barangay Looc roads.

The activity focused on removing overgrown branches that may obstruct the roadway, improve visibility, and help ensure the safety of pedestrians, motorists, and residents. The trimmed branches and debris were also gathered and cleared from the roadside.

The activity was headed by Barangay Captain Hon. Jaic Ealston D. Tampus, together with Hon. Wilson Bodiongan, Chairman of the Committee on General Services, and the Sangguniang Barangay Council.
