Last Sunday afternoon, while everyone was busy shopping for their family's dinner at the Soong Public Market, we took the opportunity to share something simple that can make a lasting difference—a 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐃𝐨𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐁𝐚𝐠.

Instead of relying on single-use plastic bags, marketgoers received a reusable eco bag to conveniently carry their purchases. We also encouraged them to make it a habit to bring the bag whenever they go grocery or market shopping, helping reduce plastic waste one trip at a time.

What makes it even better? Our MactanDoers EcoBag is washable, foldable, and lightweight—easy to slip into a handbag, backpack, or even a pocket, making it a practical companion wherever you go.

While we couldn't give an eco bag to everyone, we hope this simple initiative serves as a reminder—and an invitation—to all of us to make more sustainable choices. Whether it's bringing your own reusable bag or saying no to unnecessary plastic bags, every small action helps reduce the use of non-biodegradable plastic and protect the environment we all share.

LOOK | MactanDoers EcoBag Distribution at Soong Public Market 🌿🛍️

Yesterday was a wonderful reminder that caring for our environment begins right in our own homes and communities.

As part of our 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, we successfully held our 𝐔𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐧 𝐆𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫 at SAAC II, Mactan—an inspiring afternoon filled with learning, sharing, and a renewed commitment to sustainable living.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to our incredible resource speakers, Mr. Christian Casio of CENRO City Environment & Natural Resources Office Lapu Lapu City and Mr. Richard Bardago of Lunhaw Organization, for generously sharing their knowledge, experiences, and practical tips on starting and maintaining urban gardens. Your passion truly inspired everyone in attendance.

To all our participants, thank you for your active participation and enthusiasm throughout the seminar. Your curiosity and eagerness to learn made the event even more meaningful. And to the ever-active youth of Snr. San Roque Saac 2 CYCC—thank you for always showing up, supporting our initiatives, and proving that our generation can make a difference.

Andam na ba ka moapil sa pagpanglimpyo sa atong Coastal Area?

As we celebrate Environmental Month, we invite everyone to join us this coming June 28, 2026 (Sunday), 6:00 AM at Saac II, GSC Gasoline Station for our Kabatan-onan Alang sa Limpyo nga Kadagatan: A Coastal Clean-Up.

Kini nga kalihokan dili lamang alang sa pagpanglimpyo sa atong baybayon apan usa usab ka paagi sa pagpakita sa atong suporta ug responsibilidad sa pag-atiman sa kinaiyahan. Pinaagi sa panaghiusa sa kabatan-onan ug sa komunidad, atong mapadayon ang pagpreserba sa atong kadagatan ug mapalig-on ang kahibalo sa kahinungdanon sa pagpanalipod sa atong natural nga kahinguhaan.

We proudly participated in “Ecovibe: Kabataan para sa Kalikupan,” organized by CENRO City Environment & Natural Resources Office Lapu Lapu City in partnership with DENR 7 Central Visayas, in celebration of World Oceans Day and Coral Triangle Day.

Together with fellow youth leaders from different barangays in Lapu-Lapu City, we deepened our understanding of marine biodiversity conservation through discussions on coastal protection, the management of Crown-of-Thorns (COTS) starfish, and awareness and first aid for box jellyfish and other marine stingers. We also took part in fun and interactive activities that reminded us that environmental education can be both meaningful and engaging.

This experience strengthened our commitment as young leaders to become active advocates for the protection and preservation of our marine resources. As we return to our community, we carry with us new knowledge, valuable insights, and a renewed passion to lead initiatives that will help safeguard our environment for future generations.

The ocean sustains us—now, it is our turn to protect it.
