Personnel of Lavezares Fire Station, under the leadership of SFO4 Arnel A. Arniรฑo, Officer-In-Charge, successfully conducted a โTalakayan at Damayang Pangkabuhayanโ in Brgy. Caragas as part of the implementation of the ๐๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ ๐๐ฌ๐ฒ๐จ๐ง ๐ฌ๐ ๐๐๐ฒ๐๐ง, ๐๐ข๐ ๐ญ๐๐ฌ ๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ฆ๐๐ฒ๐๐ง๐๐ง (๐๐๐) Program of the Bureau of Fire Protection.
The activity was organized to strengthen the partnership between the Bureau of Fire Protection and the local community through information dissemination, community engagement, and collaborative discussions focused on fire safety awareness, disaster preparedness, and community resilience. Residents of Brgy. Caragas actively participated in the open forum and discussion, where important topics regarding fire prevention and emergency preparedness were thoroughly discussed.
During the activity, BFP personnel emphasized the importance of practicing fire safety measures at home and within the community. Residents were oriented on common causes of fire incidents, proper handling and storage of flammable materials, safe use of electrical connections and appliances, and the importance of maintaining clear exits and accessible firefighting equipment. The discussion also highlighted the significance of early reporting during emergencies and the proper actions to take before, during, and after fire incidents and other disasters.
The โDamayang Pangkabuhayanโ component of the program focused on promoting cooperation, unity, and resource-sharing among community members to help establish safer and more resilient living conditions. Community members were encouraged to actively participate in barangay safety programs, support one another during emergencies, and contribute to maintaining a fire-safe environment.
Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) materials containing essential fire safety tips, emergency hotlines, and disaster preparedness guidelines were distributed to the residents to further reinforce the knowledge shared during the activity. The dissemination of these materials aims to increase public awareness and encourage households to adopt proactive safety practices.
Through this initiative, the Bureau of Fire Protection continues to strengthen its commitment to protecting lives, properties, and the environment by fostering strong community partnerships, promoting public awareness, and encouraging active participation in disaster risk reduction and fire prevention programs.
The activity also served as a reminder that achieving a safer and more prepared community is a shared responsibility that requires cooperation, vigilance, and continuous public engagement.
