𝐈𝐍 𝐏𝐇𝐎𝐓𝐎𝐒: Coast Guard Station Sultan Kudarat, in strong partnership with the Municipal Tourism Office - Lebak and the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) Lebak, officially convened the comprehensive Basic Life Support (BLS), Standard First Aid (SFA), Water Safety and Rescue Techniques (WASAR), and Lifeguard Training at the MDRRMO Compound, Brgy. Pasandalan, Lebak, Sultan Kudarat today, September 14, 2026.

This intensive 12-day joint capability-enhancement training program will run from September 14 to 25, 2026.

The training brings together resort representatives and local personnel from every coastal barangay across the municipality. By equipping frontline tourism and resort workers with PCG-standard aquatic safety, emergency resuscitation, and lifesaving protocols, this initiative ensures rapid, certified emergency response capabilities across all local communities and coastal destinations.

The Coast Guard District Southern Mindanao (CGDSM), together with its Stations and Sub-Stations, joined the Simultaneous Flag Raising Ceremony marking the formal opening of the Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo) 2026, held at Headquaters CGDSM Makar Wharf Barangay Labangal, General Santos City today, September 7, 2026.

With the theme, “Karapatan sa Karagatan, Sama-Sama Nating Alagaan,” the ceremony highlighted the Philippines’ identity as a maritime and archipelagic nation while underscoring the importance of protecting, preserving, and responsibly utilizing the country’s maritime resources.

These initiatives aim to deepen public understanding of the vital role of the country’s seas in its history, national security, livelihood, and future, while fostering a stronger sense of responsibility among Filipinos toward the protection and preservation of the maritime domain.

As the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) remains at the forefront of maritime safety, security, law enforcement, and marine environmental protection, CGDSM continues to promote maritime awareness and collective action. Through MANA Mo 2026, Filipinos are reminded that our seas are part of our identity and a shared responsibility that calls for unity and vigilance.

Coast Guard Station Sultan Kudarat (CGS SULKUD), alongside Coast Guard Sub-Station Lebak, joined the Gender and Development (GAD) Kalinga Outreach Program organized by the Municipal Local Government Unit of Lebak at Tinonggos Elementary School, Barangay Christianuevo, Lebak, Sultan Kudarat, on September 4, 2026.

As part of the nationwide celebration of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA), the outreach focused on supporting grassroots education and community welfare. Beneficiaries received essential aid, including hygiene kits distributed to the students and office supplies turned over to support the teaching staff and administrative operations of Tinonggos Elementary School.

The outreach program highlighted strong inter-agency solidarity and community service, with active participation from personnel of the 57th Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army; Lebak Municipal Police Station; 2nd Sultan Kudarat Provincial Mobile Force Company (2nd SKPMFC); Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Lebak; and the Sultan Kudarat Maritime Police.

Through this coordinated initiative, the Philippine Coast Guard reaffirmed its dedication to public service, working hand-in-hand with fellow uniformed services and the local government to support educational needs and uplift local communities

𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈: The Coast Guard Station Sultan Kudarat (CGS SK) together with the Coast Guard Dental Station Southern Mindanao (CG DENS-SM), conducted a dental mission in Lebak, Sultan Kudarat on August 16, 2026.

During the mission, a total of 56 dental procedures were conducted, encompassing tooth extractions, fluoride treatment, and dental cleaning.

As part of the Philippine Coast Guard's (PCG) intensified Community Assistance, Awareness, Response, and Enforcement (iCARE) Program, CGS SK and CGDENS-SM made dental services more accessible to the community while reinforcing partnerships with local stakeholders, in line with the celebration of the 7th Kapeonan Festival of Lebak.

𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈: The Local Government Unit of Lebak (LGU Lebak), in partnership with Coast Guard Station Sultan Kudarat (CGS SK) and Coast Guard Sub-Station Lebak (CGSS Lebak), successfully organized the 1st Kapeonan Festival Pickleball Tournament bringing together locals from all over Lebak at the Municipal Gymnasium, Lebak, Sultan Kudarat last August 8-9, 2026.

The two-day sporting event formed part of the festivities of the Kapeonan Festival, promoting camaraderie, physical fitness, and community sportsmanship among the people of Lebak. Personnel from CGS SK and CGSS Lebak joined the LGU Lebak in organizing and supporting the tournament, reflecting the Coast Guard's continuing commitment to strengthening ties with the community it serves.

Through activities like this, the Philippine Coast Guard reaffirms its dedication not only to maritime safety and security but also to fostering unity and wellness within the communities under its watch.

Coast Guard Station Sultan Kudarat, together with the 35th Marine Company OnlyOurBest MbltFive (Philippine Marine Corps), MDRRMO Lebak, BPAT Datu Karon, and the Barangay Local Government Unit of Datu Karon, conducted a Search and Rescue Operation following a drowning incident along Tran River, Brgy. Datu Karon, Lebak, Sultan Kudarat, on August 5, 2026.

At around 7:39 PM on August 5, 2026, CGS Sultan Kudarat received a report of the drowning incident and immediately activated its Disaster Response Group (DRG) Team, arriving at Tran River together with PMC personnel. Due to strong water current and zero visibility, operations were temporarily suspended at 9:50 PM.

The mission was reclassified from Search and Rescue to Search and Retrieval, resuming at 5:00 AM the following day, August 6, 2026. Through the coordinated and relentless efforts of all responding units, the victim was recovered at 12:35 PM and turned over to his grieving family.

The Philippine Coast Guard extends its deepest condolences to the family of the victim, and reaffirms its continuing commitment to public safety and emergency response in the communities it serves. The PCG likewise reminds the public to always exercise caution near bodies of water, especially children, and to observe proper safety measures at all times to prevent similar incidents.

JUST IN: COAST GUARD STATION SULTAN KUDARAT CONDUCTED RESCUE OPERATION AT SITIO PAKIL BRGY. BARURAO 1, LEBAK SULTAN KUDARAT.

CGS Sultan Kudarat and CGSS Lebak conducted roving assessments in their AOR amid continuous heavy rainfall. Earlier this morning in Sitio Pakil, Brgy. Barurao 1, Lebak, Sultan Kudarat, 15 families including 4 pregnant women, 6 senior citizens, and 26 children below 10 years old were successfully rescued and brought to the evacuation center.

CGS Sultan Kudarat DRG team remain on standby and continue to monitor their AOR amid non-stop heavy rainfall and ready to respond immediately to any emergency.
