Today, we stand in solidarity with the entire Filipino nation as we solemnly commemorate the 128th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence. This yearβs national theme, "Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan" (Freedom, Future, History), challenges us to look beyond a single moment in time. It calls on us to recognize that our hard-won sovereignty is a continuous responsibility - one that bridges the sacrifices of our past with our collective vision for tomorrow.
In the words of one of our national hero, Apolinario Mabini: "Ang tunay na kalayaan ay hindi lamang ang pag-alis sa pamatok ng dayuhan, kundi ang pagpapakatao at paggawa ng matuwid." (True freedom is not just casting off the foreign yoke, but cultivating humanity and committing to what is right.)
This timeless truth reminds us that independence is not a passive status, but an active, moral duty that we must exercise every day through righteous governance and responsible citizenship.
Kasaysayan: Honoring Our Foundations. Our journey as free people began with the profound courage of our heroes. For the Municipal Government of Lebak, history is not merely a record of the past, but the bedrock of our institutional identity. We owe our present liberties to those who stood unyielding against adversities. We honor their memory by ensuring that the history of our locality and our nation remains a source of pride, driving us to safeguard the rights and welfare of every citizen we serve.

To our dedicated public servants, our daily labor is our modern act of patriotism. By delivering efficient public services, practicing absolute integrity, and upholding accountability, we breathe life into our independence. We measure our freedom by our capacity to uplift the vulnerable, defend local peace and order, ensure public safety, and secure steady socio-economic development for all; our collective goal for an inclusive governance.
