LEBAK, SULTAN KUDARAT โ€” Police Provincial Director PCOL MARVIN A FONTALVA of the Sultan Kudarat Police Provincial Office and PLTCOL RANDY M ELIARDA, Chief of Police of Lebak Municipal Police Station, joined the unveiling of a tsunami marker on August 17, 2026, at the Provincial Capitol Extension in Brgy. Tibpuan, Lebak, Sultan Kudarat, commemorating the 50th anniversary of the devastating Moro Gulf Earthquake and Tsunami of August 17, 1976.

The marker serves as a lasting tribute to the victims of the disaster and to the individuals and communities who helped save lives during the tragedy. Spearheaded by DOST-PHIVOLCS, in partnership with the Province of Sultan Kudarat and the Municipality of Lebak, the activity also emphasized the importance of sustaining disaster risk reduction efforts, promoting earthquake and tsunami awareness, and strengthening community preparedness to help protect lives and communities from future disasters.

Lebak MPS continues to support initiatives that promote public safety, disaster preparedness, and resilient communities in partnership with local government agencies and other stakeholders.

Lebak MPS Arrests Suspect, Seizes Over โ‚ฑ94,000 Worth of Suspected Shabu and Firearm

LEBAK, SULTAN KUDARAT โ€” Operatives of the Lebak Municipal Police Station, together with personnel from other units, conducted a buy-bust operation on August 15, 2026, at Brgy. Poblacion III, Lebak, Sultan Kudarat, which resulted in the arrest of alias โ€œAbdil,โ€ 24, a resident of the said barangay.

During the operation, the poseur-buyer successfully purchased one sachet of suspected shabu weighing approximately 0.050 grams. Recovered from the suspectโ€™s possession were additional sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 12.64 grams, with a combined estimated street value of โ‚ฑ94,600.00. Also recovered were a homemade firearm, one chamber-loaded ammunition, six additional live rounds of 5.56mm ammunition, buy-bust money, and other pieces of evidence.

The seized items were properly marked, inventoried, and documented for appropriate disposition and examination. A criminal complaint for violations of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act No. 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act No. 10591 (Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act) is being prepared against the arrested suspect.

The Lebak MPS reiterates its commitment to intensify its campaign against illegal drugs and loose fi****ms while ensuring that all police operations are conducted in accordance with law and established procedures.
