**128th Philippine Independence Day Commemoration in Lebak**
The Municipal Government of Lebak, under the leadership of Mayor Hon. Frederick F. Celestial, joined the nation in celebrating the 128th Philippine Independence Day, honoring the courage and sacrifices of the Filipino heroes who fought for the country's freedom.
The celebration began with a solemn Flag-Raising Ceremony attended by local government officials and employees, representatives from national government agencies, civic organizations, barangay officials, veterans, and members of the uniformed services. A wreath and flower offering at the monument of Dr. Jose P. Rizal served as a tribute to his invaluable contribution to the nation's history and independence.
The program featured opening remarks from Hon. Erwin Villanueva, a message from Vice Mayor Hon. Melchor B. Alarcon, ECE, and an inspiring keynote address by 1LT Ian M. Lachica (INF) PA, Company Commander of Alpha Company, 57th Infantry Battalion, Philippine Army. Their messages emphasized patriotism, unity, discipline, and active participation in nation-building.
Mayor Hon. Frederick F. Celestial's message, delivered by Acting MPDC Jaybee C. Bernales, JD, encouraged the people of Lebak to uphold the spirit of independence through responsible citizenship and community cooperation. In her closing remarks, Ms. Louien Hope C. Necesito expressed gratitude to all participating agencies and stakeholders for making the celebration meaningful and successful.
The commemoration served as a reminder of the nation's hard-earned freedom and reinforced the values of patriotism, unity, and shared responsibility in building a stronger future for the Municipality of Lebak and the Filipino people.
