MGA KAPWA KO G**O, BAGO TAYO MAGWALA AT MAG-REACT SA SINABI NI CLAIRE CASTRO TUNGKOL SA ATIN, “MAGPAKA-G**O” MUNA TAYO!
We are "teachers”. And “real teachers” discern, do research, validate facts, and analyze information before we make harsh judgment.
Bilang dating G**o sa PUP Sta. Mesa (Polytechnic University of the Philippines) and DYCI in Bocaue, Bulacan (Dr. Yanga's Colleges, Inc.)—and also known as The GuruKiko ng Pilipinas doing meaningful trainings in Luzon, Visayas, & Mindanao—let's have some real talk here.
Kung ang napanood ko lang ay yung "spliced video" na pinapakalat ng mga trolls and bashers, ako ang kauna-unahang magagalit at magkokondena kay Claire Castro.
But here is the actual, complete statement of Usec. Castro: “Minsan na po nating nakita, mismong ang ibang mga g**o, ay lumalabag sa ganitong klase ng moralidad. Sila minsan ang nagtuturo sa kanilang mga estudyante kung paano maging walang modo...”
Please notice the specific phrase: "ibang mga g**o." It is very clear that she did not generalize. Using simple logic, she has a point here and this is just reality. No profession is 100% perfect - and that includes our teaching profession, mga kapwa ko G**o.
We all know that there are some teachers ("ibang mga g**o") who bring their partisan views and personal politics inside the classroom. Some even encourage students to mock and disrespect politicians that they do not like. Nanggagatong pa sa estudyante ang “ibang” mga teachers. It really happens. ‘Wag nang i-deny, magpakatotoo!
And don't get me wrong, I am not defending Usec. Castro here. I am not a fan of her style because she sounds very cold and transactional, while I am an empath who values emotional connection. She definitely could have said what she said in a much better way.
PERO ANG MALI DITO is the manipulation by political enemies. Tinanggal ng mga trolls ang salitang "ibang" to make it look like Castro insulted ALL teachers. They are using the emotions of over-sensitive teachers for their own political agenda.
So my challenge to my fellow educators: Do not let trolls and bashers manipulate you.
We are called Teachers because we are the brains of society—we understand, analyze, and process facts before reacting. Kung tayo mismo ay madaling ma-trigger without looking at the full context, what will we teach our students? Please, mga kapwa ko G**o, be more discerning, reasonable, and logical - lalo na ngayon sa panahon ng mga trolls and fake news.
Do not fall for fake news and do not let personal hatred cloud your judgment.
Yes, there are a few bad apples, but it does not mean the entire teaching profession is bad. Let us be critical thinkers so we do not become pawns in political games.
‘Yun lang po mga kapwa ko G**o. Sana nakatulong sa paglilinaw ng isyu about us teachers ang post ko na ito.
