VIVA, INANG MAPAG-AMPON!

With hearts full of joy and thanksgiving, we announce that the Holy Father, Pope Leo XIV, through the Dicastery for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, has granted permission for the Pontifical Coronation of the venerated image of Nuestra Seรฑora de Salvaciรณn, Patroness of the Diocese of Legazpi and Heavenly Queen of Albay, together with the image of the Infant Jesus, enshrined at the Diocesan Shrine and Parish of Our Lady of Salvation in Joroan, Tiwi, Albay.

In response to the petition of The Most Rev. Joel Z. Baylon, D.D., Bishop of Legazpi, together with the People of God in Albay, the Holy See issued the decree on October 20, 2026 โ€” the very day of the 75th anniversary of the canonical er****on of the Diocese of Legazpi. We received this joyful news today, October 22, the Memorial of Pope Saint John Paul II, the beloved Pontiff who visited Legazpi in 1981. These meaningful dates make this occasion an especially precious gift to our local Church as we celebrate our Diamond Jubilee.

The Pontifical Coronation will take place on October 28, 2026, during our solemn Diamond Jubilee Mass, to be presided over by His Eminence Luis Antonio G. Cardinal Tagle, Dean of the College of Cardinals.

We warmly invite all the faithful to join us in this historic celebration of faith and thanksgiving, as we honor our Blessed Mother and entrust our Diocese anew to her maternal intercession.

The committee reviews measures from the Municipality of Oas, including a proposal to increase the monthly incentive for recognized Barangay Association of Senior Citizens (BASCA) presidents from โ‚ฑ500 to โ‚ฑ1,000.
