𝟐𝟎𝟎 𝐦𝐚𝐠-𝐚𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐧𝐚 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐬, 𝐠𝐮𝐫𝐨, 𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠, 𝐧𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐢𝐬𝐚 𝐬𝐚 𝐍𝐮𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐒𝐲𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐮𝐦

(Legazpi City, August 18, 2026) Humigit-kumulang 200 na mag-aaral na may Special Education Needs (LSENs), g**o, magulang at caregivers ang nakiisa sa Symposium on Proper Nutrition and Dietary Needs of Learners with Special Needs na isinagawa ng Albay Provincial Health Office (APHO) sa pamamagitan ng Nutrition Program sa Tabaco South Central Elementary School.

Layunin ng aktibidad na palawakin ang kaalaman ng mga magulang, caregivers at g**o hinggil sa wastong nutrisyon at angkop na dietary practices para sa mga LSENs.

Naging resource speaker sa symposium si Provincial Nutrition Program Coordinator Roan Mae R. Ofalsa, ND III, na tumalakay ng Proper Nutrition for Persons with Disabilities: A Guide for Caregivers.

Ayon kay Ofalsa, ang kahalagahan ng pagbibigay ng angkop at masustansiyang pagkain sa mga persons with disabilities, gayundin ang papel ng mga magulang at caregivers sa pagtugon sa kanilang partikular na nutritional at dietary needs.

Samantala, namahagi rin ang APHO-Nutrition Program ng Pinggang Pinoy for Kids materials at Nutrition Flyers for Persons with Disabilities sa mga g**o at caregivers.

Binigyang-diin sa symposium ang kahalagahan ng inclusive nutrition, kung saan isinasaalang-alang ang nutritional needs ng bawat mag-aaral, lalo na ang mga may special needs.

Ang CHED Expanding Access to Scholarships for Equity Groups (EASE) Program ay isang scholarship program para sa mga incoming first-year college students ng public at private colleges/universities ngayong AY 2026–2027. Ito ay layong magbigay ng educational assistance (tuition, stipend, at book/connectivity allowance) para sa mga kwalipikadong aplikante mula sa mga sumusunod na sektor:
- Persons with Disabilities
- Solo Parents amd children of solo parents
- Indigenous Peoples
- Senior Citizens
- Poor, underprivileged, and homeless citizens (RA 7279, RA 11291)

Basahin ang mga kwalipikasyon, benepisyo, at mga kinakailangang dokumento sa poster. Hinihikayat rin naming maipasa ang impormasyong ito sa iba pang kabataang may kapansanan at kanilang mga pamilya na maaaring maging interesado at kwalipikadong mag-apply. Maraming salamat!

We took another meaningful step toward promoting dignity, health, and inclusion as we celebrate this year's NDR Week, through our Understanding Reproductive Health and Disability seminar. Conducted last July 20-21, 2026 at Governor's Guest, Legazpi City. The activity brought together persons with disabilities, parents, and caregivers, to deepen their understanding of reproductive health rights, personal safety, healthy relationships, and disability-inclusive services.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to Prof. Caren Altavano for generously sharing her expertise, insights, and passion. Her engaging discussions and compassionate approach inspired meaningful conversations and empowered our participants with knowledge that can help protect, educate, and uplift persons with disabilities.

As always, we thank our dear governor, Gov. Noel E. Rosal for all the support in advancing a more informed, inclusive, and empowered community. Together, we continue to uphold the rights, dignity, and well-being of every person with a disability.
