𝐁𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐥 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃 𝐑𝐎 𝐕 𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐍 𝐊𝐢𝐜𝐤-𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

Bicol University proudly joins the celebration of ASEAN Month through its participation in the 𝐂𝐇𝐄𝐃 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐕 𝐀𝐒𝐄𝐀𝐍 𝐊𝐢𝐜𝐤-𝐨𝐟𝐟 𝐂𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, held yesterday, August 26, 2026, at Marison Hotel, Legazpi City.

As part of the celebration, Bicol University showcased its internationalization journey through an exhibition booth inspired by Vietnam and Timor-Leste, highlighting the University's growing international engagements, partnerships, and commitment to strengthening its presence within the ASEAN community.

The 𝐁𝐢𝐜𝐨𝐥 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐈𝐑𝐎), under the Office of the President and led by 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐄𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐃. 𝐇𝐨𝐧𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐨, coordinated and facilitated the preparation of the University's booth. The initiative was made possible through the conceptualization, creativity, resourcefulness, and collaborative efforts of BU students, College Student Councils, and faculty members of the 𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐫𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 (𝐈𝐃𝐞𝐀), headed by its newly appointed Director, 𝐀𝐫. 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐟𝐢𝐧 𝐌. 𝐌𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐞.

Adding to the booth's showcase were products and innovations from the BU Fabrication Laboratory, headed by its Director, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐀𝐥𝐟𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐨 𝐌. 𝐏𝐞ñ𝐨𝐥. Technical support was further provided by the Information and Communications Technology Office (ICTO), led by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐀𝐫𝐢𝐬 𝐉. 𝐎𝐫𝐝𝐨ñ𝐞𝐳; logistics support from the College of Science, led by 𝐃𝐫. 𝐋𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐡 𝐀. 𝐂𝐚𝐣𝐮𝐝𝐚𝐲; and general logistical assistance from the General Services Office (GSO), headed by 𝐌𝐫. 𝐑𝐞𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐝𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚.

The celebration brought together higher education institutions and stakeholders for a day of commemoration, cultural learning, and meaningful dialogue, featuring discussions on ASEAN culture, friendship, cooperation, and the role of higher education institutions in advancing regional goals.

Through its active participation, Bicol University reaffirms its commitment to ASEAN solidarity, internationalization, intercultural understanding, and stronger regional partnerships, continuing to build bridges between Bicol University and the wider ASEAN community.
