PNP STATEMENT ON THE MINDANAO EARTHQUAKE

The Philippine National Police (PNP) is closely coordinating with the Office of Civil Defense, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC), and local government units following the earthquake that struck off the coast of Sarangani this morning. The safety and security of residents in affected areas remain the PNP’s top priority.

PNP personnel across Mindanao have been placed on heightened alert to assist in evacuation efforts, secure critical infrastructure, and support relief operations. The police are ensuring that roads and access routes are clear for rescue teams and that evacuation centers are safe and orderly for displaced residents, particularly in coastal communities under the tsunami warning.

The PNP urges all residents to follow evacuation instructions, move to higher ground, and prioritize personal safety. All units are monitoring the situation in real time and are ready to provide immediate assistance wherever needed.

The PNP remains fully committed to supporting ongoing disaster response operations and ensuring the safety and security of affected communities during this critical time.

Personnel of the Legazpi City Police Station conducted traffic management and established Police Assistance Desks (PADs) in various schools across Legazpi City on June 8, 2026, in support of the opening of classes for School Year 2026–2027.

The initiative aimed to ensure the smooth flow of traffic, provide immediate police assistance, and maintain the safety and security of students, parents, teachers, and school personnel.

Personnel of the Legazpi City Police Station conducted school visitation, police visibility, and foot patrol operations at Albay Central School, Legazpi City, on June 8, 2026, in line with the opening of classes.

The activity aimed to ensure the safety and security of students, teachers, and parents through enhanced police presence and proactive community engagement.

OPLAN BALIK ESKWELA 2026

Kasabay ng pagsisimula ng School Year 2026 at muling pagpasok ng ating mga mag-aaral sa kani-kanilang paaralan, patuloy na nakaantabay at nakahandang magbigay ng seguridad ang Albay Police Provincial Office upang matiyak ang isang ligtas, maayos, at mapayapang pagbubukas ng klase.

Sa pamamagitan ng mas pinaigting na pagpapatrolya, masusing pamamahala sa daloy ng trapiko, at patuloy na pakikipag-ugnayan sa mga paaralan, lokal na pamahalaan, at iba pang mga katuwang na ahensya, nananatiling handa ang Albay PPO sa pagpapanatili ng kaayusan at kaligtasan ng publiko sa buong panahon ng balik-eskwela.

Bilang kaagapay ng komunidad sa paghubog ng kinabukasan ng kabataan, patuloy na itinataguyod ng Albay PPO ang isang ligtas, maayos, at kaaya-ayang kapaligiran para sa pagkatuto. Ito ay alinsunod sa layunin nitong makapaghatid ng serbisyong pulis na may integridad, kahusayan, at malasakit sa mamamayan.
