Simula ngayong araw, Agosto 25, sisimulan na ng Lokal na Pamahalaan ng , Albay, ang pamamahagi ng libreng 10 kilo ng bigas para sa bawat pamilya sa lahat ng 56 barangay ng bayan.

Ayon kay Mayor Mayor Nookie Bombales, ang subsidy na ito ay hiniling at na-download sa pamamagitan ng LGSF-FALGU sa ilalim ng Bagong Pilipinas Rice Subsidy Program ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos.

Dagdag ng alklade, malaking pasasalamat ang nais niyang iparating sa Pangulo at sa gobyerno nasyunal na naaprubahan ang programa at nabigyan sila ng pagkakataong magamit ang buong pondo para sa kanilang mga kababayan.

The P18.74 million project under DOLE's TUPAD program will provide each beneficiary in Legazpi City with P4,550 in wages for 10 days of work, along with personal protective equipment and group accident insurance.

The workers will engage in activities, including declogging of canals and drainage systems, performing minor repairs and maintenance of school facilities, and maintaining the cleanliness of community gardens and tourism sites, to prevent dengue.

PhilHealth Regional Office 5 reported 54 accredited YAKAP clinics and 30 GAMOT providers in Albay, expanding access to consultations, laboratory examinations, and essential medications for PhilHealth members.

PhilHealth Bicol information officer Leri Ilagan said that the increasing number of accredited facilities allows residents to access services closer to their communities, thereby reducing out-of-pocket health expenses.

STRENGTHENING CHILD PROTECTION, SCHOOL SAFETY: Patuloy ang Educo Philippines sa pagsusulong ng child protection at school safety, katuwang ang DepEd Philippines at United Nations Childrenโ€™s Fund (UNICEF).

Ayon kay Maria Alexandra โ€œJingโ€ Pura, EDUCO Philippines country director, nakikipagtulungan ang EDUCO Philippines sa UNICEF at DepEd sa pagbuo ng national guidelines on school safety.

Magsisilbing gabay ito sa mga paaralan sa pagtugon sa ibaโ€™t ibang panganib na maaaring makaapekto sa kaligtasan at pag-aaral ng mga bata.

"UNICEF, DepEd, and EDUCO, we are helping them to develop national guidelines in school safety," ayon kay Pura.

Dagdag pa ni Pura, nakatuon ang guidelines sa mga disaster, hazard, at iba pang risk na maaaring makaapekto sa schooling or learning ng mga bata.

"Initially naka-focus sya sa mga disasters, mga hazards, and risk na nakakaapekto sa schooling ng mga bata, yung continuos learning saan mang schools," dagdag pa ni Pura.

Nagpapatuloy ngayong August 19 ang taunang partnership convergence 2026 ng Educo Philippines sa Legazpi City Albay.

SULIT ANG PHILHEALTH: Mas pinalawak at dinagdagan ang mga health benefits at serbisyong mapakikinabangan ng mga Pilipino sa ilalim ng Philippine Health Insurance Corporation.

Itinaas na rin ng Philhealth hanggang sa 95% ang financial coverage para sa 9,000 healthcare cases.

Kabilang dito ang inpatient benefits at Z Benefits para sa mga malulubhang karamdaman tulad ng cancer, kidney transplant, heart surgeries at iba pang kondisyon na nangangailangan ng matagal na gamutan at malaking gastusin.

Tinalakay ang mga ito ng PhilHealth Regional Office 5 sa isang pagpupulong kasama ang mga media partners at Albay Communicators Network na binubuo ng mga government information officers sa lalawigan at mga tanggapan ng pamahalaan sa rehiyon.

Layunin nitong mapalakas ang pagpapalaganap ng tama at napapanahong impormasyon ukol sa mga programa, benepisyo at serbisyo ng Philhealth.

Ayon kay PhilHealth Bicol Regional Vice President Alberto C. Manduriao, ang ganitong pagtitipon ay nagbibigay ng pagkakataon sa kanilang tanggapan na mapalawak ang pag-unawa ng publiko sa mga programang pangkalusugan ng pamahalaan.

Binigyang diin naman ni Philhealth Bicol information officer Leri Ilagan na patuloy na sinisiguro ng Philhealth na magiging sulit ang kontribusyon ng mga miyembro sa pamamagitan ng pagpapalawak ng mga benefit packages at coverages.

Kabilang sa mga karagdagang benepisyo ang para sa mental health, emergency care, oral health, animal bites at marami pang iba.

Itinampok din ang mga konsultasyon at laboratory tests sa ilalim ng YAKAP services, gayundin ang mahigit 70 gamut at medisina na maaaring mapakinabangan hanggang P20,000 kada taon para sa GAMOT program.

Sa mas pinalawak na benepisyo at serbisyong pangkalusugan, layunin ng Philhealth na mabawasan ang gastusin ng mga Pilipino sa pagpapagamit at matiyak na mas maraming miyembro ang makatatanggap ng kinakailangang pangangalagang pangkalusugan.
