𝐇𝐎𝐋𝐈𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝐈𝐍 𝐀𝐋𝐁𝐀𝐘:
𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 is hereby declared a special nonworking holiday in the Province of Albay, including the cities therein, in commemoration of the birth anniversary of 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗼𝗻 𝗔. 𝗢𝗹𝗮 and in recognition of his life, service and bravery, being the last Filipino army general who surrendered to the American forces during the Philippine-American war.

This day does not honor just one hero. Instead, it recognizes all Filipinos who contributed to the country’s struggle for freedom and nation-building, including unsung heroes.

𝐁𝐌 𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐈𝐀𝐋'𝐒 𝐌𝐀𝐘𝐎𝐍 𝐏𝐃𝐙 𝐎𝐑𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐍𝐂𝐄 𝐒𝐄𝐂𝐔𝐑𝐄𝐒 𝐅𝐈𝐍𝐀𝐋 𝐀𝐏𝐏𝐑𝐎𝐕𝐀𝐋

Provincial Ordinance No. 0031-2026 entitled “An Ordinance Institutionalizing Resilient Land Use, Activity, Conservation, and Development Regulations within the Mayon Volcano Six-Kilometer Permanent Danger Zone”, authored by 2D Board Member Harold O. Imperial, was approved on 3rd and Final Reading during the 54th Regular Session of the 15th Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Albay.

BM Imperial was commended by BM Glenn O. Casulla for the initiative, noting that for decades, despite Mayon Volcano being a major concern in Albay, there had been no ordinance specifically seeking to protect the lives and properties of communities along the volcano.

The Mayon PDZ Ordinance now moves forward as a significant measure aimed at strengthening Albay’s preparedness, resilience, and responsible management of areas surrounding the Mayon Volcano.
