The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) โ Albay Provincial Office, through Negosyo Center Daraga in partnership with Socio-Economic Development Program Multi-Purpose Cooperative, successfully conducted the โContinuity and Resilience: A Seminar for Sustainable Business Operationsโ on March 18, 2026, at the 3rd Floor, SEDP Training Hall, Kapantawan Legazpi City.
The activity gathered twenty (20) MSMEs from the processed food, bread and pastry, wearables and homestyle. Through interactive discussions, risk assessment exercises, and guided planning using the Business Continuity Planning (BCP) Roadmap, participants gained practical knowledge on identifying potential risks, developing contingency strategies, and formulating their own Business Continuity Plans.
Mr. Senen T. Briones, Senior Trade-Industry Development Specialist (STIDS) of DTI Albay, served as the resource speaker. He emphasized the importance of proactive planning to ensure business resilience and faster recovery during crises. He also highlighted how external shocks, such as the ongoing Middle East crisis that has caused global oil price increases, may affect production costs, logistics, and overall business operations.
Selected participants also benefited from one-on-one coaching sessions, where they received personalized guidance to further strengthen their Business Continuity Plans.
Through initiatives like this, DTI Albay continues to empower MSMEs to remain prepared, adaptable, and resilient in the face of evolving business challenges.
