AFPSAT PASSERS FROM CATANDUANES ACCOMODATED ON BOARD BRP AGTA LC822

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines - The Naval Forces Southern Luzon (NAVFORSOL), A total of twenty-one (21) AFPSAT passers from Catanduanes were accommodated on board BRP AGTA (LC 822) and safely transported to Naval Forces Southern Luzon (NFSL) in support of their application processing for military service.

The group was composed of four (4) applicants for the Naval Officer Candidate Course (NOCC) and seventeen (17) applicants for the Sailor Basic Course (SBC), all aspiring to join the ranks of the Philippine Navy and serve the nation with honor and dedication.

Upon their arrival at NFSL, billeting accommodations were likewise provided for the applicants of Catanduanes to ensure their safety, convenience, and welfare during the duration of their processing and activities.

The transport assistance provided by NAVFORSOL reflects its
continued commitment to supporting aspiring naval personnel from remote areas and ensuring their safe and convenient travel for recruitment and processing activities.

PH NAVY IN RIMPAC 2026 | The Philippine Navy returns to the Rim of the Pacific Exercise (RIMPAC) for its 5th participation, soon joining the world’s largest multinational maritime exercise alongside allied and partner navies.

Its continued presence in RIMPAC underscores the Philippine Navy’s growing operational capability, deepening defense cooperation, and commitment to becoming a modern, multi-domain, and credible naval force.

STRONGER DEFENSE TIES | PH Navy, JMSDF conduct high-level engagements, reaffirm maritime partnership

The Philippine Navy reaffirmed its steadfast commitment to maritime cooperation and regional stability through the Official Visit of the Flag Officer In Command, Vice Admiral Jose Ma Ambrosio Q Ezpeleta PN to Japan from May 18 to 21, 2026.

Upon the invitation of Admiral Saito Akira, Chief of Staff of the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF), Vice Admiral Ezpeleta led the PN delegation in a series of high-level engagements focused on strengthening naval diplomacy, interoperability, and strategic partnership.

The visit featured an Honor Guard and Wreath Laying Ceremony (Flower Tribute) at the Ministry of Defense in Camp Ichigaya and bilateral discussions on regional security and maritime cooperation, underscoring both navies’ shared commitment to maintaining peace and stability in the region.

The delegation also conducted operational visits to key JMSDF facilities in Yokosuka, including the Maritime Operations Center and naval platforms such as JS Ohnami (Japanese Destroyer), SS Yaeshio (Japanese Submarine), and JS Awaji (Japanese Minesweeper). These engagements highlighted the growing collaboration between the PN and the JMSDF in maritime domain awareness, naval capability development, interoperability, and professional military exchanges in support of a stable and rules-based Indo-Pacific region.

The official visit likewise underscored the importance of defense diplomacy and people-to-people ties through cultural engagements and a courtesy call on Her Excellency Mylene J. Garcia-Albano, Philippine Ambassador to Japan.
Bound by shared values and a common maritime purpose, the PN and the JMSDF continue to strengthen their enduring partnership in pursuit of peace, stability, and security across the Indo-Pacific.

The Philippine Navy held the christening ceremony for BRP Rajah Lakandula (PS21) on May 26, 2026, at Quay 7, Naval Operating Base–Subic, Zambales, as part of its 128th Anniversary celebration, with Rear Admiral Joe Anthony C Orbe PN, Commander, Philippine Fleet, as keynote speaker.

“Today’s unveiling of the ship’s name and bow number represents more than identity – it represents purpose. It reflects the continuing modernization of the Philippine Navy and our resolve to build a force that is more capable, responsive, and prepared to protect our maritime domain,” Rear Admiral Orbe said.

Ahead of its commissioning, the christening ceremony formally unveiled the ship’s name and bow number which marks an important milestone in the vessel’s integration into the Philippine Navy fleet and symbolizing its future role in strengthening the country’s maritime defense and security capabilities.

“As we formally christen BRP Rajah Lakandula (PS21), may she sail with honor, strength, and purpose. May she serve as a symbol of courage, dedication, and national pride for generations of Filipino sailors to come,” Rear Admiral Orbe added.

BRP Rajah Lakandula (PS21), a Rajah Sulayman-class Offshore Patrol Vessel (OPV), reflects the Philippine Navy’s continuing efforts to build a modern, multi-capable, self-reliant, and credible force capable of addressing evolving maritime challenges and safeguarding the nation’s maritime interests.

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines - Demonstrating its steadfast commitment to the welfare and well-being of its personnel and their families, the Naval Forces Southern Luzon (NAVFORSOL) actively participated in the conduct of the Simultaneous Philippine Navy Integrated Personnel Support Fair (IPSF) in connection with the celebration of the 128th Philippine Navy Anniversary on 25 May 2026 at the Fleet-Marine Quarter Deck, Naval Station Julhasan Arasain, Rawis, Legazpi City.

The IPSF served as a comprehensive one-stop support platform designed to enhance operational readiness by addressing the holistic needs of Philippine Navy personnel and their dependents. Anchored on the principle that strong and resilient families contribute significantly to mission accomplishment, the activity brought together various government agencies, private organizations, and partner stakeholders to provide accessible and essential support services.

Among the services made available during the activity were Medical and Dental Services, Mental Health and Wellness Support, Financial and Legal Assistance, Housing and Livelihood Programs, Entrepreneurship and Economic Opportunities, as well as Family Welfare and Social Services. These services were aimed at promoting not only the physical well-being of personnel but also their financial stability, emotional resilience, and overall quality of life.

The simultaneous conduct of the IPSF across Philippine Navy units underscores the organization’s enduring dedication to taking care of its sailors, marines, civilian human resources, and their families, recognizing them as vital pillars of organizational strength and operational effectiveness.

LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines - The Naval Forces Southern Luzon (NAVFORSOL), through the Philippine Navy Mobile Recruitment Team, officially commenced the first day of its Mobile Recruitment Activity at Naval Station Julhasan Arasain (NSJA), Rawis, Legazpi City, opening opportunities for aspiring young Filipinos in the Bicol Region to pursue a meaningful and honorable career in naval service.
