The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board RFRO 5, under the leadership of Regional Director Joel R. Defeo, CESO V, through its Transport Inspectors and Technical Section, conducted a roadside inspection and monitoring on August 13, 2026, in Mayon, Daraga, Albay.

The activity aimed to monitor the condition and compliance of Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs), ensure adherence to existing rules and regulations, and promote the safety and convenience of the riding public.

The inspection included the assessment of the roadworthiness and overall condition of PUVs, including the identification of dilapidated units, as well as checking compliance with documentary and safety requirements.

The activity was conducted in line with the directives of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., Department of Transportation Secretary Atty. Giovanni Z. Lopez, and LTFRB Chairman Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II, as part of the continuing efforts to strengthen monitoring and enforcement and ensure safe, reliable, and compliant public transportation services.

LTFRB Region V continues to intensify its field operations and regulatory enforcement activities toward safer, more reliable, and efficient public transportation services throughout the Bicol Region.

Alinsunod sa direktiba ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr., sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni DOTr Secretary Atty. Giovanni Z. Lopez, at gabay ni LTFRB Chairman Atty. Vigor D. Mendoza II, patuloy na ipinatutupad ng LTFRB ang Fuel Subsidy Program bilang suporta sa sektor ng pampublikong transportasyon.

Panoorin ang mga saloobin na ibinahagi ng ilan sa mga drayber ng pampublikong sasakyan sa ₱10 bawas kada litro ng fuel subsidy na isang programa ng pamahalaan bilang tugon sa patuloy na pagtaas ng langis. Ayon sa mga benepisyaryo, malaking tulong ito sa kanilang pang araw-araw na hanapbuhay at pangangailangan. Lubos ang kanilang pasasalamat sa benepisyong ito at hangad nilang magpatuloy pa ito.

Nananatiling matatag ang LTFRB sa pagpapatupad ng mga programang naglalayong mapabuti ang kapakanan ng mga transport stakeholder at maisulong ang isang mas maayos, episyente, at napapanatiling sistema ng pampublikong transportasyon.
