‎Leon National High School earns national recognition as 𝗠𝗿. 𝗝𝗼𝗵𝗻 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗕𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗼, 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, and 𝗞𝗢𝗜𝗖𝗔 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀 𝗩𝗼𝗹𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝗿. 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 | Leon NHS, Rumagasa sa Bingawan; Sinungkit ang Korona sa Volleyball Girls para Division Meet 2025

JARO, ILOILO — Parang bagyong humagupit sa loob ng Buntatala Gym ang Leon National High School (CDSA 2) matapos nilang dominahin ang Bingawan (CDSA 3), 3-1 (21-25, 28-26, 25-18, 29-27), sa kapanapanabik na Volleyball Girls Secondary Championship Match ng Division Meet 2025 nitong Disyembre 15.

Mula unang serve hanggang huling spike, nagliyab ang aksyon sa bawat set habang nagpalitan ng malalakas na opensa at matitibay na depensa ang dalawang koponan. Naunang kumagat ang Bingawan nang igupo ang Leon sa unang set, 25-21, sa tulong ng kanilang nag-aapoy na spikes at naglalagablab na blocks.

Ngunit hindi nagpatinag ang Leon. Sa ikalawang set, bumawi sila sa pamamagitan ng kidlat na serbisyo at mahigpit na depensa sa ere, dahilan upang maagaw ang set sa dikdikang iskor na 28-26 — hudyat ng pagbabalikwas ng momentum pabor sa CDSA 2.

Tuluyan nang umalagwa ang kumpiyansa ng Leon sa ikatlong set. Sa kabila ng tangkang pagganti ng Bingawan, nanatiling matatag ang depensa at walang awang bumira ang Leon, nagtala ng 25-18 na panalo upang kunin ang kalamangan sa laban.

Sa ikaapat na set, halos mapatid ang hininga ng mga manonood sa palitan ng puntos. Ngunit nang manghina ang depensa ng Bingawan sa huling yugto, sinamantala ito ng Leon sa pamamagitan ng isang pamatay-sunog na spike na nagselyo ng panalo, 29-27, at tuluyang nagluklok sa kanila bilang kampeon.
Lubos ang pasasalamat ni Jhamielle Cadua, captain ball ng Leon, sa kanilang tagumpay.

“Una sa tanan, indi guid ini mabuo kon wala ang Ginoo, ang suporta sang amon pamilya, coaches, trainers, kag tanan nga nagsalig kag nagsuporta sa amon. Kag syempre, sa akon mga teammates nga nagpakigbato para makuha namon ang bulawan nga medalya,” ani Cadua.

Ipinahayag naman ni Ma’am Belinda Cagape, coach ng Leon, ang halo-halong emosyon matapos ang panalo. “Happy and overwhelmed and a mix of emotions. We feel truly blessed and deeply thankful to our Almighty Father for giving us the opportunity to compete in a higher meet. We are grateful to Leon National High School, the MC Lions Family, parents, and supporters for their unwavering support. We will proudly represent the Division of Iloilo in the Regional Meet 2026,” sambit niya.

Sa tagumpay na ito, hindi lamang gintong medalya ang naiuwi ng Leon NHS na kitatawan ng CDSA II, kundi pati ang karapatang maging opisyal na kinatawan ng Division of Iloilo sa darating na Regional Meet 2026 — handa nang humarurot at ipagmalaki ang kanilang husay sa mas mataas na antas ng torneo.
