The Local Government Unit of Leyte invites all eligible youth and youth serving organizations in the Municipality to register under the Youth Organization Registration Program (YORP).

📌 Who Can Register?
Community-based, school-based, faith-based, federated, sports, arts, cultural, environmental, LGBTQIA+, and advocacy-based youth organizations
🔹 Must have at least 10 active members

Accreditation through YORP ensures recognition, inclusion in youth development programs, and access to SK and LGU support initiatives.

The Three Day Tour - YOUth SHOULD KNOW!: “Guiding the Youth Towards Informed Choices”

With the support of Municipal Mayor Engr. Jed C. Granados and Vice Mayor Arnold James M. Ysidoro, the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO) successfully conducted an empowering symposium titled “YOUth SHOULD KNOW” on November 19-21, at 3 different high schools in the Municipality namely, Juan V. Delantar National High School, Bachao Integrated School, and Leyte National High School.

The event tackled timely and relevant topics such as HIV/AIDS and Teenage Pregnancy Awareness, Anti-Drug Abuse, Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC), and Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM).

The Local Government Unit of Leyte extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Principals, School Heads, and teachers for warmly welcoming the LGU and allowing the conduct of the YOUth SHOULD KNOW seminar in your school. Your support, cooperation, and commitment to youth welfare made this advocacy possible and truly impactful for our students.

Spearheaded by SK Federation President Hon. Nellie Grace Dandan, together with the Local Youth Development Council (LYDC) members and LYDO Ms. Kahren Uribe, the symposium aimed to equip high school students with knowledge, awareness, and responsibility empowering them to make informed choices for a safer and brighter future. 🌍💙

The Local Government Unit of Leyte, headed by Municipal Mayor Hon. Engr. Jed C. Granados and Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Arnold James M. Ysidoro, through the Local Youth Development Council represented by SK Federation President Hon. Nellie Grace D. Dandan, successfully conducted a one-day SK Training entitled “Effective SK Leadership; Plans, Budget, Transactions and Resolutions.”

This training aimed to strengthen the governance competencies of SK Officials by enhancing their knowledge in leadership, planning, budgeting, and policy-making.

The event was actively participated in by SK Chairpersons, SK Treasurers, and SK Secretaries from the different barangays of the Municipality of Leyte.

With continuous training, guidance, and collaboration, the LGU Leyte remains committed to nurturing competent, accountable, and community-centered youth leaders who will shape a better future for the municipality.

The Municipality of Leyte proudly opens Linggo ng Kabataan 2025, with the theme:
"Local Youth Actions for the SDGs and Beyond." 🌍✨

This vibrant celebration marks the beginning of a week filled with sports and socio-cultural activities designed to empower and unite the youth of Leyte — including basketball, volleyball, Laro ng Lahi, singing and dance contests, and symposiums on pressing youth concerns. 🏀🏐🎭📚

This meaningful celebration was officially launched under the leadership of our Municipal Mayor Hon. Engr. Jed C. Granados and Vice Mayor Hon. Arnold James M. Ysidoro,

The 4-H Regional Camp, held from March 24-26, 2025, in Caibiran, Biliran, brought together young leaders from across the Eastern Visayas region for a showcase of talent, teamwork, and community spirit. Provinces from all over the region participated in various activities designed to promote youth leadership, agriculture, and community development.

One of the event highlights was the 4-H Promotional Video Making Contest, in which the Leyte Delegation emerged as the champion. The winning team, led by Mr. Richmond Jaker Alfabete, impressed judges with their creativity, teamwork, and effective messaging in promoting the values of the 4-H club. Their video was a testament to the youth's commitment to spreading the organization's core principles of head, heart, hands, and health.

In addition to the video-making victory, the camp also saw a major leadership development milestone for the 4-H community in Eastern Visayas. Mr. Vince Marco Combate, the newly elected provincial 4-H president of Leyte, was elected as the new Eastern Visayas 4-H Club President. This marks a new chapter for the region’s 4-H movement, with his leadership set to inspire and guide the youth across the provinces in fostering growth, education, and service within their communities.

The regional camp was a significant event for the 4-H organization, which continues to provide young people with opportunities to develop skills in leadership, agriculture, and public service. With the success of the promotional video contest and the election of a new regional president, the future of the Eastern Visayas 4-H movement looks brighter than ever.

Delegates from the provinces of Leyte, Biliran, Samar, and others participated in various activities designed to strengthen youth involvement in agriculture and community development. The event emphasized the importance of cooperation and leadership in shaping a sustainable future for the region.

As the event concluded, participants expressed their eagerness to continue working together in the spirit of 4-H, advancing the organization’s mission of empowering the youth for a better tomorrow.

𝐋𝐞𝐲𝐭𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐮𝐦𝐩𝐡𝐬 𝟒-𝐇 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐕𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐨 𝐌𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝟒𝐇 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩.

The Leyte delegation had a remarkable achievement at the 4-H Club Provincial Explorer’s Camp 2025, where Mr. Richmond Jaker Alfabete, President of the Go Green 4-H Club, former LYDC Member, secured 1st place in the 4-H promotional video making contest, advancing to the regional level. The event, held from February 28 to March 1, 2025, in Matag-ob, Leyte, brought together young leaders from various 4-H club organizations across the province.

The camp, a two-day event, themed "Harvest through 4-H Milestones: Harnessing Agricultural Resilience through Vision, Education, Sustainability, and Technology," aimed to inspire young participants to think strategically about the future of agriculture while equipping them with the knowledge to adapt and thrive in the face of challenges, promoting agricultural resilience. The event began with 4-H talks, followed by the major contests, and concluded with a candle lighting ceremony on the first day. The second day started with a tree planting activity, continued with more major contests, and then wrapped up with the election of the new set of 4-H Provincial Officers. Among the newly elected was Mr. Vince Marco Combate, President of the Green Thumbs 4-H Club and LYDC Member, who was chosen as the new 4-H Provincial President.

“Your commitment to youth development motivates us to continue striving for excellence and making meaningful impact in our community”, Mr. Alfabete cited, showing his gratitude in a facebook post.

These milestones reflect the passion and commitment of the youth in the Municipality of Leyte and highlight the importance of youth development in strengthening our community.
