The Barangay Anti-Drug Abuse Council (BADAC) Functionality Assessment is a national initiative designed to measure the performance and effectiveness of BADACs in addressing illegal drug concerns at the barangay level. It is created under the mandate of the Dangerous Drugs Board and supported by the Department of the Interior and Local Government. BADACs act as the primary mechanism in implementing community-based actions against illegal drugs.

The department ensures that through this assessment the barangays are actively implementing programs, projects, and activities that strengthen local anti-drug efforts and help promote safer and drug-free communities.

𝗘𝗔𝗥𝗟𝗜𝗘𝗥 | During the Monday Convocation of Barangay Bontongon, Impasugong on March 2, 2026, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Region X Regional Director Bruce A. Colao attended the Joint Flag Raising Ceremony as part of his continued effort to engage directly with communities on the ground.

In his message, Regional Director Colao emphasized the importance of pakighimamat (engagement with the people), stating, “Usa sa katoyuan niining atong joint flag raising, mao man ang atong tinguha nga mahimamat nato ang barangay.” He underscored that meaningful public service goes beyond office work—it requires genuine connection, listening to the people’s concerns, and understanding their stories firsthand.
