LIBONA CELEBRATES NUTRITION MONTH 2026 WITH MOA SIGNING, COOKING, AGRO FAIR AND G4 CONTEST, AND BUNTIS CONGRESS.
The Municipality of Libona kicked off Nutrition Month 2026 with a series of meaningful activities participated by all 14 barangays, highlighting the theme "๐ฆ๐ฎ ๐ฃ๐ฃ๐๐ก: ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐บ๐ฎ-๐๐ฎ๐บ๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ ๐ก๐๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐๐ผ๐ป๐ด ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐ ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ ๐๐ฎ๐ต๐ฎ๐!" and sub-theme, "๐ก๐๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐๐ผ๐ป ๐ฎ๐ ๐๐ฎ๐น๐ถ๐ธ๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ป, ๐๐๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ป๐ด๐ฎ๐น๐ฎ๐ด๐ฎ๐ฎ๐ป!" ๐๐ฑ๐
The celebration began with the MOA Signing between Del Monte Foundation Inc. and the Local Government of Libona, represented by Hon. Mayor Aurelio B. Lopez together with the Municipal Nutrition Action Officer Ms. Hanna Alyanna P. Becoy and 7 Barangay Captains.
The partnership is for the 120-day Supplementary Feeding Program that aims to address malnutrition and promote proper nutrition among children in the municipality.
Gracing the event as Guest Speaker was Ms. Ma. Bella Victoria Quimpo, Executive Director of DMFI, who emphasized the importance of collaboration between the government, private sector, and communities in achieving nutrition goals. She also concluded that the health of our body is the reflection of the health of our environment, therefore we should take care of it.
Also present were visitors from the Provincial Nutrition Office Ms. Rebecca Hibaya, Ms. Mitzi Espuerta, Ms. Lhalene Flores and Ms. Rona Mhyrr Laping who monitored and supported the activities and served as Judges for the contests.
Other highlights of the celebration were:
1. Cooking Contestโ Showcasing healthy, affordable, and creative dishes using local produce
2. Agro Fair Contest โ Featuring agricultural products and G4 Gardens from the 14 barangays
3. Buntis Congress โ An educational session for pregnant women on proper nutrition and maternal care and giving of maternal milk and kits.
With the graceful performances by Barangay Nutrition Scholars and NCDC parents and children.
The activities were actively participated by BNC Members from the 14 barangays of Libona headed by the Barangay Captains and Kagawads on Health.
Certificates of Appreciation were given to dedicated Barangay Nutrition Scholars and Barangay Nutrition Committees for their service.
Serving as Program Emcees were Ms. Maricar Buyan and Mr. Xymon Rosales who made the program informative and engaging.
The Municipal Nutrition Office, together with Barangay Nutrition Scholars, spearheaded the event with support from the LGU and partner agencies.
