On August 20, 2026 the Local Government Unit of Liloy, TESDA Region IX, and DOT Region IX have officially signed a Memorandum of Partnership Agreement for "Malasakit sa Kamay: Empowering PWDs and Solo Parents of Liloy Through Hilot Massage Skills for Wellness Tourism." This landmark initiative provides specialized vocational training to equip PWDs and solo parents with sustainable livelihoods while elevating Liloy's wellness tourism industry.

The milestone ceremony was graced by Mayor Roberto Lim Uy Jr., DOT Region IX Regional Director Dara May Cataluña, and TESDA Region IX Regional Director Engr. Alan Bacatan, affirming their shared commitment to inclusive growth and community empowerment.

The Groundbreaking Ceremony for the Tourist Rest Area (TRA) in the Municipality of Liloy was officially held on August 20, 2026, marking a historic milestone as the very first Tourist Rest Area to break ground in Region IX!

The event was graced by key leaders, including Municipal Mayor Roberto Lim Uy Jr., Regional Director Dara May Cataluña of the Department of Tourism (DOT) Region IX, and Engr. Alan Bacatan, Regional Director of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) Region IX.

Spearheaded in partnership with the DOT and the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), this flagship project will offer clean rest facilities, local information, and modern amenities for travelers, paving the way for stronger local tourism and economic growth in the region.
