Bilang pakikiisa sa pagdiriwang ng ๐๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐…๐ฅ๐š๐  ๐ƒ๐š๐ฒ๐ฌ ๐Ÿ๐ŸŽ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ”, buong pagmamalaking itinataas ng ๐๐š๐ง๐ฅ๐š๐ฅ๐š๐ฐ๐ข๐ ๐š๐ง๐  ๐“๐š๐ง๐ ๐ ๐š๐ฉ๐š๐ง ๐ง๐  ๐“๐ฎ๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ๐ฆ๐จ ๐š๐ญ ๐”๐ ๐ง๐š๐ฒ๐š๐ง๐  ๐Š๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐š๐ฅ ๐ง๐  ๐๐š๐ง๐ ๐š๐ฌ๐ข๐ง๐š๐ง ang ating Pambansang Watawat bilang simbolo ng pagmamahal sa bayan, pagkakaisa, at paggalang sa kasaysayan at kulturang Pilipino.

Ang Mayo 28 ay itinakdang simula ng National Flag Days bilang paggunita sa makasaysayang Labanan sa Alapan noong 1898, kung saan matagumpay na tinalo ng mga rebolusyonaryong Pilipino sa pamumuno ni Heneral Emilio Aguinaldo ang mga puwersang Espanyol sa Imus, Cavite. Dito unang iwinagayway ni Aguinaldo ang bagong Pambansang Watawat na tinahi ni Marcela Mariรฑo de Agoncillo sa Hong Kong.

Alinsunod sa Republic Act No. 8491 o ang Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines, hinihikayat ang lahat na buong dangal na iwagayway ang ating watawat mula Mayo 28 hanggang Hunyo 12 bilang pagpapakita ng nasyonalismo. Kalakip nito ang panawagang โ€œTapat sa Watawatโ€, isang paalala ng ating matatag na paninindigan para sa bayan, kultura, at pagka-Pilipino.
