JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
-Provides excellent technical services, in particular, on the dairy goats’ health and body condition which include, among others, dairy goat production/husbandry management, disease detection and prevention, and breeding and nutrition management, within the concerned regional department’s area of coverage.
-Formulates and implements an Animal Health, Breeding, and Nutrition Management Program, especially, for the dairy goats.
-Responsible for and assumes the lead in animal health, breeding, and nutrition interventions on dairy goats within the concerned regional department’s area of coverage.
-Leads in the assessment and evaluation of the health status of dairy animals, especially the dairy goats, and provides immediate interventions, as required.
-Programs and performs animal health interventions, among others, on animal vaccination, zoonotic tests, and other health programs, with a focus on dairy goats.
-Prepares and facilitates the submission of documentary reports (e.g. necropsy, mortality, death certificate, and other support documents, if and when necessary) for a request for relief from property accountability, insurance claim, and other COA requirements.
-In coordination and/or along with the other PMT members:
⦁ facilitates the transfer of technology to clienteles/customers thru effective strategies and updated extension techniques where strategies for technology transfer are area-specific;
⦁ monitors and gathers data on all technical events pertaining to individual production units, cooperatives, including feedback coming from individual customers in regard to dairy goat-based products and services provided by the Project.
⦁ assists in identifying the training needs of farmers and farmers' organizations and other dairy stakeholders and assists/facilitate in the conduct of dairy goat-based training on animal health, breeding, and nutrition to enable the farmers and farmers’ organizations to respond more effectively to the needs of integrated dairy enterprises thereby assisting them in establishing efficient, profitable and sustainable business partnerships.
⦁ coordinates with other government agencies and other non-governmental entities on program planning and implementation especially on dairy goat-based programs with foreseen results that will benefit the local dairy goat industry; establishes backward & forward linkages w/ LGUs, GOs & NGOs to generate support to the different concerns of the dairy industry within the concerned regional department’s area of coverage.
⦁ participates actively in the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of the plans and programs of the Project, in general, and of the concerned regional department, in particular.
-Projects the positive image of the Project and the NDA before the general public, its partners in development, and the target customers.
-Submits Monthly Accomplishment Reports to the National Project Coordinator thru the concerned PMT Leader and the regional department manager.
-Prepares and executes an approved Annual Performance Contract and submits a periodic Accomplishment Report on the area of coverage to the National
Project Coordinator thru the concerned PMT Leader thru the concerned regional department.
-Performs other tasks and duties as may be required/directed by the National Project Coordinator thru the concerned PMT Leader thru the regional department manager.
