On 05 May 2026, the Philippine Air Force Officer Candidate School (PAFOCS) welcomed the Philippine Navy Officer Candidate School (PNOCS) at Fernando Air Base, Lipa City, for a meaningful engagement under the Local Informational Program Visit (LIPV) and PNOCS Facility Subject Matter Expert Exchange.

The activity provided an opportunity for both institutions to share insights and experiences in their respective officer development programs. Through comparative observation and professional interaction, the engagement fostered a deeper understanding of each service’s training systems and operational perspectives.

A key highlight of the visit was the PNOCS Facility Subject Matter Expert Exchange, which served as a platform to benchmark best practices and exchange innovative approaches in pre-entry officer training. This initiative reinforced the importance of continuous improvement and adaptability in shaping future military leaders.

Adding energy and camaraderie to the engagement, Fellowship Games were conducted between the PAF Officer Candidate Course "NATARAGSIT" Class 2026 and Naval Officer Candidate Course "MASARIG" Class 45. The friendly competition strengthened esprit de corps, teamwork, and mutual respect among the candidates—further solidifying the bond between future officers of the air and naval services.

More importantly, the activity strengthened inter-service relations, promoting camaraderie, mutual respect, and a unified commitment to excellence among future officers of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

On 30 April 2026, the Philippine Air Force Officer Candidate School conducted the Pre-Donning Activity of PAF OCC CL-2026 at the hallowed grounds of Fernando Air Base, Lipa City.

The activity consisted of two key components: Team Building Exercises and the Pershing Cap Ceremony. The Team Building Exercises were designed to enhance camaraderie, trust, communication, and coordination among the officer candidates. These activities aimed to strengthen teamwork, develop leadership under pressure, and reinforce the importance of unity in accomplishing mission-oriented tasks.

More than a simple ceremony, the Pershing Cap Ceremony served as a symbolic checkpoint in the candidates’ transformation—marking their progression from the demanding, survival-driven phase of training toward the standards and responsibilities of officership.

This ensures that by the time these candidates don the ranks of Probationary Second Lieutenants, the transformation is not merely ceremonial, but already deeply internalized.
