𝐀𝐄𝐓𝐃𝐂 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐛𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐔𝐏-𝐃𝐍𝐃 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝 1989

The Air Education, Training and Doctrine Command (AETDC) firmly supports the decision of Secretary Delfin N Lorenzana of Department of National Defense (DND) in terminating the 1989 DND agreement with the University of the Philippines (UP).

The unilateral decision to end the accord does not breach any provision of the agreement. Neither does this curtail UP’s right and responsibility to exercise academic freedom as this is protected in our Constitution. Further, this is not an attack against the UP but a necessary measure to prevent and protect its students from becoming victims of terrorist recruitment and deception.

As Mentors, we give importance on education, freedom of expression, and humanity. The said termination will not impair freedom of speech, assembly, and redress of grievances. The DND and the UP community can co-exist like before.

As an institution that educates and trains PAF personnel, the AETDC strongly believes that the youth should be given care and security. The AETDC Mentors will continue to support the mandate of the AFP and the efforts of the Government to safeguard the future of our youths. Together, we will build a better Philippines for the sake of our future generations.

AETDC Statement on the Abrogation of UP-DND Accord 1989

IN PHOTOS: COL DENNIS G ESTRELLA PAF (GSC), Deputy Commander, AETDC, conducted lecture to PME students of the PAF Non-Commissioned Officer School together with the School's Officers and Sergeant Major.

COL ESTRELLA talked and shared his valuable insights and experiences about Leadership. Prior to his lecture, he was invited to the Hall of Excellence to sign in the School's Guest Book. Having launched the said hall last 21 September 2020 during the School's 21st Anniversary, COL ESTRELLA was the second to have signed in the said guest book, next to Commander, AETDC.

The said lecture was conducted at Bactol's Multi-Purpose Hall with limited number of students attended physically while others joined through video-teleconference in order to adhere with the safety protocols against the spread of COVID-19 virus. After his lecture, COL ESTRELLA warmly welcomed and answered all the queries from the attendees.

JOINT VIRTUAL OPENING CEREMONY OF ANCOC & BNCOC

In PHOTOS: On 18 September 2020, the PAF Non-Commissioned Officer School officially started the 3rd Batch of PME Courses for CY: 2020. The said opening ceremony was held through Google Meet and was graced by COL DENNIS G ESTRELLA PAF (GSC), Deputy Commander, AETDC as the Keynote Speaker.

This batch of students will be the second beneficiaries of the online learning program called Distance Learning that has been formulated by the School in order to continue nurturing the future leaders of the NCO Corps and help them progress in their careers amidst the unstoppable spread of COVID-19 virus.

The School had successfully conducted the Distance Learning of the pioneering class and had noted the best practices as well as the shortcomings of the new learning platform thus the Griffins mentors can assure that the implementation of the Distance Learning for the second batch of students will be further improved.

With this new system, the School will continue to explore possible means of providing quality education, best learning experience and conducive learning environment amidst the current situation. The Griffins Mentors will always uphold their commitment to educate and train the most important asset of our organization, its human resource. The School will always take the challenge to level up towards excellence amidst challenges.
