The LARES Center Chief, Dario M. Huelgas, PhD., ACCIII, together with the OIC-RTD for Research, Regulations and ILD, Maria Ella Cecilia B. Obligado, MNSA, APCO Batangas, Michael K. Lalap, ACCII, Pedro R. Bringas Jr., SRSII, lead technical staff of DA LARES for its Livestock Production Unit and staff from the DA4A-Livestock Banner Program and DA4A-Regional Agricultural Engineering Division led the turn-over ceremony of three (3) facilities: the Feed Bodega/Storage, Rehabilitated Cattle Shed and Rehabilitated Forage Nursery with Installed Sprinkler.

The construction and rehabilitation of these facilities are funded under the DA4A Livestock Banner Program as support for the goal of providing efficient 0n-Station Production of the assigned livestock for LARES which is the Banaba native chicken and techno demo on cattle utilizing artificial insmeination (AI) while providing storage of feeds and source of forage seedlings for distribution to raisers in CALABARZON

After the turn over, OIC-RTD Ella reminded the LARES Staff to have a system of and basic record keeping and safekeeping of all biological assets of the station including proper recording of ins and outs from the feed storage and warehouse. She also requested an updating of the MDP of LARES to include the repair and upgrading of some of the facilities and input requirements of its Livestock Production Unit and to secure funding under Modernization Program (establishment and maintenance of techno demo, farm lay out and access road).

Attended by its technical and non-technical personnel, the DA-Lipa Agricultural Research and Experiment Station (LARES) conducted its MidYear Assessment of Station Production and Accomplishments of Research Projects under LARES for the First Semester CY2026.

Present in the activity is the newly promoted Agricultural Center Chief (ACCIII) and DA-LARES Center Chief, Dario M. Huelgas, PhD., RAgr., reiterating that all activites and accomplishments in and of the station are reported to the banner and funding programs and targets should be met per quarter or semesteral reporting thus, cooperation of each personnel is highly encouraged.

Furthermore, each designated personnel of each units should coordinate activities to the Office of the Center Chief so that proper scheduling and accomplishment of activities are done as per targets.

As we celebrate PHILIPPINE AGRICULTURISTS' MONTH 2026, we
present DA LARES' Center Chief
Dario M. Huelgas, PhD., RAgr., as he is an inspiration to aspiring researchers, Registered Agriculturist and staff of this station, with his recent awards and recognition as a project leader and as station chief.

As a professional agriculturist, Doc Dario has accepted the challenge in promoting sustainable agricultural science-based technologies with reliable extension services and capacitating farmers and fisherfolk in urban and rural communities toward increased production thru the management of one of the DARFO4-CALABARZON Research and Experiment Station (LARES).
