Path to the Eagle: Llorente Scouts Sweep Top Ranks

Thirteen delegates from Llorente National High School demonstrated exceptional discipline at the 2026 Summer Advancement Camp, with every member of the troop earning high-level rank distinctions during the four-day event held at YOCENCA, Salcedo, Eastern Samar on May 7–10.

Out of the thirteen participants, ten scouts successfully earned the distinction of Outdoor Scout, while three advanced to the rank of Pathfinder Scout. These advancements bring the delegates significantly closer to the Eagle Scout rank, the highest and most prestigious achievement in the Boy Scouts of the Philippines.

The camp, organized by the BSP Eastern Samar Council, required scouts to earn a minimum of ten merit badges through the practical application of scouting skills in a field setting. According to the Llorente scouting leads, the 100% advancement rate of their delegates serves as a testament to the character and rigorous preparation of the students.

The school administration highlighted that this success was made possible through the tireless guidance of the Scout Leaders and Teachers namely, Sir Ronel Alde, Sir Jerry Jude Rondina and Sir Jommel Comillo. These mentors provided technical training and moral support, ensuring the delegates mastered the ten required merit badges while maintaining the high level of discipline and character demanded by the Boy Scouts of the Philippines (BSP).

Commenting on the achievement, the School Principal III, Dr. Judy B. Operario stated:

"Congratulations to our Llorente Scouts for their stellar performance! Reaching the ranks of Outdoor and Pathfinder Scout is no small feat. This victory is a shared triumph between our hardworking students and our passionate Scout Leaders and Teachers. We are one step closer to producing a new generation of Eagle Scouts. Keep the fire of service burning!"

By securing these distinctions, the Llorente scouts have set a high standard for leadership and self-reliance within the division.

The achievement marks a milestone for Llorente National High School as it continues to foster self-reliance and community leadership among its student body.

Oblation Bound: 5 LNHS Scholars Conquer UPCAT 2026

Proving that grit and academic rigor transcend disciplinary boundaries, five standout students from Llorente National High School (LNHS) have officially conquered the 2026 University of the Philippines College Admission Test (UPCAT).

Leading the pack of successful examinees is The LNHS Torch Editor-in-Chief, Francine Antoinnette T. Campo, alongside fellow STEM trailblazers Amren Rae A. Badar, Jizabelle V. Baque, and Franzen LeAnn Norombaba. Joining the ranks of these STEM scholars is high-achieving HUMSS student Rhea Mae C. Demalgen, Associate Editor of Ang Sulo and a decorated RSPC Qualifier for Editorial Writing in Filipino.

These five scholars secured their slots in the country’s premier state university after emerging victorious from one of the most competitive academic gateways in the Philippines. Their success not only highlights the individual excellence of the students but also underscores the quality of instruction provided by both the STEM and HUMSS strands of LNHS. As they prepare to enter the hallowed halls of UP, these "Iskolar ng Bayan" stand as inspirations to their fellow LNHSians students, proving that excellence is a standard regardless of the field of study.

Their achievement marks a significant milestone for the LNHS community, reinforcing the school's reputation for nurturing top-tier scholars capable of competing at the highest level. While the UPCAT is notorious for its selective passing rate, these students successfully balanced intensive laboratory sessions and research defenses with rigorous entrance exam reviews.

Their success serves as a beacon of inspiration for underclassmen, proving that geographic distance from the capital is no barrier to excellence.

With the spirit of "Honor and Excellence" already ignited, the LNHS family proudly salutes these four UPCAT passers. They have proven that Llorente is not just a school of dreamers, but a hub of achievers.

As they embark on this new chapter as Iskolars ng Bayan, they carry the pride of their alma mater with them. Though they head to the different campuses of the premier state university, they will always have a home here in Llorente.

Go forth and make us proud! Congratulations, MGA ISKOLAR NG BAYAN!

New Wave of Ethical Leaders: LNHS honors JHS Completers

Under the banner of national progress and moral fortitude, Llorente National High School (LNHS) celebrated the promotion of Junior High School completers during its Moving Up Ceremony for School Year 2025-2026, held at the LNHS Covered Court on March 29.

The rites followed the Department of Education’s (DepEd) national theme, "Filipino Graduate: Prepared to Lead with Competence and Character," a call to action for the next generation of leaders to balance academic excellence with ethical groundedness.

The event was graced by Education Program Supervisor in Mathematics and Llorente District Adopter, Robert C. Guira, alongside District-in-Charge Merilyn S. Campanero and GPTA President Sabina Alota, all of whom witnessed the ceremony with pride and honor.

The ceremony, marked by a blend of solemnity and celebration, highlighted the transition of students into the final two years of their basic education. In a stirring keynote address of the Guest Speaker, Dr. Julie S. Bonga, urged the completers to view their certificates as a commitment to the country.

He emphasized that failure is defined not by how many times one falls, but by the refusal to quit after every setback.

Moreover, Dr. Judy B. Operario, School Principal III, emphasized that the world the students are entering values speed and skill, but the nation requires something deeper: leaders who cannot be bought and whose brilliance is matched by their empathy.

Leading the batch was Shelby O. Borja, who received the With High Honors for Academic Excellence. In a heartfelt address to the completers, Borja reflected on the hurdles the batch faced, including the rapid integration of AI in the classroom and the post-pandemic shifts in learning.

"We are not just the Class of 2026; we are the architects of a future that demands both digital mastery and human compassion," Borja stated during her speech for the Words of Gratitude.

In line with DepEd Memorandum No. 015, s. 2026, the school maintained a simple yet meaningful program.

The event serves as a milestone not just for the students, but for the community, reinforcing the school's mission to produce graduates who are both globally competitive and deeply rooted in Filipino values.

HEARTS OF GOLD, HANDS OF EXCELLENCE: LNHS Honors Teachers and Administrative Staff in 2026 Pasidungog Awards

While the spotlight at graduation usually falls on the students in their caps and gowns, a different kind of brilliance illuminated the covered court of Llorente National High School (LNHS) during the 2026 School-Based Pasidungog Awards.

The air was thick with emotion as the Outstanding Teacher awards were announced. These educators were not merely recognized for their lesson plans, but for their ability to bridge the gap between curriculum and character.

Moreso, often working behind the scenes, the administrative and non-teaching staff were the night's unsung heroes. From the meticulous management of school records to the maintenance of a safe and conducive learning environment, their contributions were hailed as the backbone of LNHS.

School Principal III, Dr. Judy B. Operario, emphasized that the Pasidungog is more than just a distribution of plaques and certificates; it is a vital part of the school’s ecosystem.

"When we honor our teachers and staff, we are reinforcing the very standard of excellence we expect from our students," Dr. Operario stated.

"The success of our 10th SHS Commencement Exercises is a direct reflection of the hard work celebrated here today. You cannot have a 'Graduate with Competence and Character' without a faculty that embodies those same traits," he added.

The 2026 Pasidungog Awards proved that excellence at Llorente National High School is a collective pursuit. By pausing to celebrate the milestones of its workforce, LNHS has cultivated a culture where "leading with character" starts at the top of the organizational chart and trickles down to the youngest learner.

As the curtains closed on the awards night, the message was clear: at LNHS, every effort is noted, every sacrifice is honored, and every member of the teaching and non-teaching force is a vital thread in the fabric of the school’s decade of success.
