Take the RIGHTS path!

The Department of Education (DepEd) stands united with the global community in raising awareness about HIV and AIDS. This World AIDS Day, we advocate for dignity, equality, and rights protection for people living with HIV (PLHIVs) among our communities.

In June, we celebrate two important social awareness campaigns:

First, the Pride Month, where members of the LGBTQIA+ community continue to fight for their rights in the struggle of being heard in society. They have proven themselves to be rightful citizens and have contributed meaningfully to building the nation. Let us unite with them in celebrating their aspirations.

Second, the National No Smoking Month. This is very crucial as our children have become the most vulnerable victims of smoking. Let us be cautious where to smoke and make sure that no children are harmed when smoking in places such as homes and other public places.

Remember, secondhand smoke can cause lung problems, including coughing, too much phlegm, wheezing, and breathlessness in school-aged children.

Let's be sensitive to other people's health as we are to ourselves. We should be one with the government in making sure that we have a habitable, clean and safe environment in the Philippines for everyone.
