The LGU Loon, through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) and in partnership with Ranao Women’s and Children Resource Center, Inc., successfully conducted a Gender Sensitivity Training (GST) today, April 30, 2026 at FITS Center, Cogon Sur, Loon, Bohol

The activity gathered members of the Municipal Committee on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and Children (MCAT-VAWC) and Barangay VAWC/ASH Focal Person to strengthen local mechanisms in protecting the rights and welfare of women and children within the municipality.

The Municipality of Loon, through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO-Loon), in coordination with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA-PhilSys), informs the public of the scheduled house-to-house National ID registration and processing for individuals who were unable to attend the previously scheduled on-site activities.

This initiative primarily caters to bedridden senior citizens and individuals with medical conditions or physical limitations, ensuring that they are not left behind in the government’s identification system. The activity is being facilitated with the assistance of unit presidents to properly identify qualified beneficiaries and their respective addresses.

The Local Government Unit of Loon, through the MSWD Office, recently facilitated the quarterly meeting of the Loon ERPAT Federation, β€œEmpowerment and Reaffirmation of Paternal Abilities.”

The activity highlighted the election of a new set of officers, as well as an orientation conducted by the Municipal Cooperative Development Office. Child and Youth Peer Educators from Loon successfully completed the three-day Enhanced Version of the Ladderized Peer Education Training (LPET) Level 3: Peer Education on Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (ASRH) held on April 14–16, 2026 at Collegio de Loon.

This meaningful activity was spearheaded by the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office in collaboration with the Commission on Population and Development Region VII.

The training equipped young peer educators with essential knowledge and skills to promote adolescent sexual and reproductive health, empowering them to become advocates of informed and responsible decision-making within their communities.

On March 22, 2026, Barangay Cansubayon in Loon, Bohol successfully held its Women’s Month Celebration 2026. The event was organized by the Barangay Council, led by the Barangay Captain, in partnership with the Cansubayon Women’s Association.

A key highlight of the activity was an orientation on Gender and Development (GAD) and Republic Act No. 11313, also known as the Safe Spaces Act.
