Ang Local Government Unit of Loon, pinaagi sa Municipal Agriculture Office, misalmot sa Sandugo Agri-Fair 2026 nga gipahigayon sa Plaza Rizal, Tagbilaran City,,gikan Hulyo 13 hangtod Hulyo 17,2026.

🌱 One-Day Training on Climate-Smart Farming: Adapting & Thriving Amid Climate Change 🌱

The LGU-Loon, through the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO), successfully conducted the One-Day Training on Climate-Smart Farming: Adapting & Thriving Amid Climate Change, attended by the presidents of Farmers' Associations and the Barangay Kagawad on Agriculture from the different barangays of Loon.

The activity was graced by Hon. Mayor Cesar Tomas M. Lopez, who delivered his message of support and reaffirmed the LGU's commitment to strengthening the agriculture sector through climate-resilient and sustainable farming practices.

Also present was Mr. Jannes D. Cantones, Municipal Agriculturist, who encouraged the participants to apply the knowledge and technologies shared during the training to help build resilient farming communities.

The training was facilitated by Mr. Leonard Bongola, Science Research Specialist I from the Department of Agriculture – Regional Field Office VII (DA-RFO VII), who shared valuable insights and practical climate-smart farming strategies to help farmers adapt to the challenges brought about by climate change.

Together, let us continue working towards a more resilient, productive, and sustainable agricultural sector for the Municipality of Loon.

JUST IN | 32 Farmers Complete ATI-RTC VII Training on Coconut Non-Food Products

Thirty-two (32) registered coconut farmers, cooperative members, and young farmers from Loon, Bohol successfully completed the Training on Coconut Non-Food Products Batch 2 conducted by the Agricultural Training Institute – Regional Training Center VII (ATI-RTC VII) on June 9–11, 2026 at Gazeebo de LOONdon Eco Farm, Loon, Bohol. The training was coordinated by Project Officer Mr. Jeffrey Awas under the leadership of OIC- Center Director Vianney T. Ojerio.

The three-day training equipped participants with practical skills in producing Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO) and coconut-based shampoo through hands-on sessions facilitated by Ma. Reina P. Perez, Manager of the Loon Small Coconut Farmer Cooperative. Participants also learned proper processing techniques, quality control, product costing, and pricing to support potential coconut-based enterprises.

The activity was supported by the Municipal Government of Loon, led by Hon. Cesar Tomas M. Lopez, Municipal Mayor, and the Municipal Agriculture Office headed by Jannes D. Cantones, Municipal Agriculturist.

Through this training, participants gained valuable knowledge and skills in transforming coconuts into high-value non-food products, opening opportunities for additional income and sustainable livelihood development in coconut farming communities.
