Opisyal nang Nagsimula ang Habagat sa Pilipinas

Inanunsyo ng DOST-PAGASA nitong Mayo 30, 2026 ang pagsisimula ng Southwest Monsoon o Habagat sa bansa, na isa sa mga pangunahing palatandaan ng nalalapit na pagsisimula ng tag-ulan. Habang nagiging pangunahing weather system ang Habagat, inaasahan ang pag-ulan at ang thunderstorms, lalo na sa mga kanlurang bahagi ng bansa, kaya hinihikayat ang publiko na manatiling updated sa mga opisyal na abiso sa panahon at magsagawa ng mga kinakailangang pag-iingat.

Moderate to Heavy rainshowers with lightning and strong winds are expected over (SapiAn, Ivisan), (Catigbian, Trinidad, Buenavista, Getafe, Talibon, BienUnido, Pres.CarlosP.Garcia), (TaclobanCity, Babatngon), (SantaRita), (CityOfBorongan) and (Narra) within the next 30 minutes to an hour.

The above conditions are being experienced in (NewWashington, Batan, Altavas), (Mabini, Alicia, Ubay, Pilar, SierraBullones, Carmen, Danao, SanMiguel, Dagohoy, Calape, SanIsidro, Inabanga, Clarin, Tubigon, Sagbayan, Candijay, Guindulman, Anda, GarciaHernandez, Jagna, Duero), (DumagueteCity, Bacong, Sibulan), (Capoocan, Carigara, Jaro, Alangalang, Barugo, Tunga, SanMiguel, Tanauan, Tolosa, Palo, SantaFe), (Basey), (Maydolong), (CityOfMaasin, SanJuan, SaintBernard) and (Aborlan) which may persist within 1 to 2 hours and may affect nearby areas.

All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides. Keep monitoring for updates.

“DOMENG” MAINTAINS ITS STRENGTH WHILE MOVING NORTH NORTHWESTWARD OVER THE PHILIPPINE SEA EAST OF BATANES

• Location of Center (10:00 AM)
The center of the eye of Typhoon DOMENG was estimated based on all available data at 645 km East of Basco, Batanes (21.2°N, 128.1°E).

• Intensity
Maximum sustained winds of 120 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 150 km/h, and central pressure of 975 hPa

• Present Movement
North northwestward at 15 km/h

• Extent of Tropical Cyclone Winds
Strong to typhoon-force winds extend outwards up to
560 km from the center

➣ Severe Winds

Based on the latest forecast track, the hoisting of tropical cyclone wind signal over Extreme Northern Luzon is less likely.

The enhancement of the Southwest Monsoon and the periphery of DOMENG will bring strong to gale-force gusts over the following areas (especially in coastal and upland areas exposed to winds):

• Today: Most of Visayas, Batanes, Cagayan, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Zamboanga del Norte, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, Camiguin, Agusan del Norte, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Sarangani, Davao Occidental, and Davao Oriental.
• Tomorrow (01 June): Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Panay Island, Negros Occidental, and Northern Samar.
• Tuesday (02 June): Batanes, Babuyan Islands, Aurora, Bulacan, Metro Manila, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Panay Island, Negros Occidental, and Northern Samar.
HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS

➣ 24-Hour Sea Condition Outlook

Up to rough seas over the following coastal waters:
• Up to 3.5 m: The seaboard of Batanes; the eastern seaboards of Babuyan Islands and mainland Cagayan.
• Up to 3.0 m: The seaboard of Isabela; the northern seaboard of Babuyan Islands.
• Mariners of small seacrafts, including all types of motorbancas, are advised not to venture out to sea under these conditions, especially if inexperienced of operating ill-equipped vessels.

Up to moderate seas over the following coastal waters:
• Up to 2.5 m: The remaining seaboards of Cagayan; the northern and eastern seaboards of Polillo Islands and Catanduanes; the northeastern seaboard of Aurora; the northern seaboard of Camarines Norte.
• Up to 2.0 m: The remaining seaboards of Aurora; the northern seaboards of Ilocos Norte and Camarines Sur; the northern and eastern seaboards of Northern Samar; the eastern seaboards of southern Palawan, Sorsogon, Eastern Samar, Dinagat Islands, and Davao Oriental; the southern seaboard of Kalayaan Islands.
• Mariners of motorbancas and similarly sized vessels are advised to take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigation under these conditions.

Other coastal waters have forecast wave heights of less than 2.0 m.

TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK

• It must be emphasized that heavy rainfall and severe winds may still be experienced in localities outside the forecast confidence cone. Refer to “Other Hazards affecting Land Areas” for more details. Furthermore, the track may still shift within the limit of the forecast confidence cone.
• Typhoon DOMENG will continue moving north northwestward today before recurving towards southern Japan for the remaining forecast period. This tropical cyclone is less likely to make landfall over the country. DOMENG will likely exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) tomorrow morning or afternoon.
• DOMENG will continue to intensify until it reaches its peak intensity tomorrow (01 June) while remaining over the Philippine Sea. Afterwards, it will steadily weaken but will remain as a typhoon throughout the forecast period.

Considering these developments, the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. Persons living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials. For heavy rainfall warnings, thunderstorm/rainfall advisories, and other severe weather information specific to your area, please monitor products issued by your local PAGASA Regional Services Division.
