The Sangguniang Bayan of Lope de Vega, Northern Samar, convened for its 57th regular session earlier today, August 17, 2026. During this session, the council considered the Draft Ordinance entitled "Local Investment and Incentives Code (LIIC)of the Municipality of Lope de Vega", which was subsequently approved and passed on second reading. This measure highlights the municipal government's efforts to establish a transparent and responsive framework that fosters investment, promotes business development, and supports sustainable economic growth within the municipality. The Sangguniang Bayan remains steadfast in its commitment to enacting policies that promote the welfare and interests of the constituents of Lope de Vega.

PUBLIC HEARING CONDUCTED TODAY

Earlier today, the Sangguniang Bayan of Lope de Vega successfully held a public hearing on the proposed ordinance "Strengthening Responsible Pet Ownership" in the municipality. It was a wonderful opportunity to listen to the views, recommendations, and concerns of our dedicated stakeholders and residents.

This activity truly shows our Sangguniang Bayan's strong commitment to transparency, inclusive participation, and creating legislation that reflects everyone's voice. We want to make sure that every sector gets a fair chance to share their thoughts before we move forward.

A heartfelt thank you to our Mayor and to all the government agencies, the MAO, the RHU, the MDRRMO, the MSWDO, the DILG/MLGOO, the MENRO & MPDO, the LVMPS, the LVBFP, DepEd, barangay officials, Sectoral Representatives, and residents who joined us and generously shared their insights. Your active involvement is incredibly valuable in helping us develop thoughtful and responsive policies for our beloved Municipality of Lope de Vega.

Earlier today, the Sangguniang Bayan of the Municipality of Lope de Vega held its 55th Regular Session, which highlighted the enactment of the Ordinance Establishing the Municipal Teen Center and Municipal Library, sponsored by Hon. Maria Custorio, as well as the adoption of the Municipal Tourism and Development Plan for CY 2026-2035, sponsored by Hon. Jackilo Canagoran.

These measures emphasize the Municipality's commitment to promoting access to information, strengthening literacy, and providing lifelong learning opportunities for every Lopedeveganhon, as well as sustainable tourism development, laying a stronger foundation for inclusive growth and improved public service.
