Resharing these maps of Sibuyan Island that I created last year as a small tribute to the people who continue to defend their home, and to those who have stood for its protection.
Also known as the "Galápagos of Asia," Sibuyan Island is home to extraordinary biodiversity and a remarkable level of endemism. Its mountains, forests, and landscapes are part of its identity.
It would be heartbreaking to see a landscape this beautiful reduced to pits, scars, and flattened slopes. What took nature millions of years to create could be lost in a matter of years.
