Dear Honorable Mayor,
My name is Guillermo Mendoza, Professor Emeritus, University of Illinois. I am also a former professor at the UP College of Forestry and Natural Resources, UPLB.
I write just to let you know of my pleasant experience this morning with/at the Civil Registry Office. I needed/applied for a copy of our Marriage Certificate. I was met by a friendly receptionist at the door/entrance. Within minutes I was inside the office and was attended by an equally friendly ang courteous staff. After showing my ID and answering a few questions, he left /excused himself to get something. Within 2-3 minutes he was back and gave me a local/photocopy of my Marriage Certificate!
Wow! what a quick service! I was fully expecting to file my request and wait a few days or even weeks before I can get the copy! Regrettably, this is what I came to expect because of the well known 'bureaucracy'. Imagine my pleasant surprise when I get the copy...at NO CHARGE! Wow!
I write because I want to share with you the good things and service your staff at the Civil Registry Office is doing/has done for me this morning.
It is probably not often that you receive a commendation letter like this. But I thought the office deserves it! Of course, this also reflects the good service your office provides under your leadership.
Apologies for the informality of this letter. I would have like to write you formally and send it via e-mail, but the secretary said this informal letter is OK as well!
