💡 𝐅𝐔𝐍 𝐅𝐀𝐂𝐓 | 𝓐𝓵𝓪𝓶 𝓶𝓸 𝓫𝓪?

Before it became Los Baños, the town was once called Mainit, inspired by the natural hot springs near Mt. Makiling. ♨️ In 1589, Fr. Pedro Bautista established public baths in the area and renamed it Los Baños, meaning “𝙗𝙖𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙚𝙨” in Spanish.

As we look forward to the Bañamos Festival this September 17, let’s celebrate not only the festivities, but also the history behind the name of our beloved town! 🌿🎉
