Sa ika-40 anibersaryo ng EDSA People Power Revolution, 𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐠𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐬𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐩𝐚𝐠𝐤𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐚 𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐚𝐦𝐛𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐧𝐚 𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐲𝐨𝐝 𝐧𝐠 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐤𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐲𝐚, 𝐤𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐚𝐧, 𝐚𝐭 𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧.

Ang EDSA Revolution ay hindi lamang alaala ng nakaraan, kundi patuloy na paalala ng kapangyarihan ng bayan upang ipaglaban ang tama, tumindig laban sa pang-aabuso, at muling itaguyod ang kalayaan ng sambayanan.

Ang rebolusyong ito ay hindi lamang bahagi ng ating kasaysayan, kundi isang patuloy na paalala na ang demokrasya ay dapat pangalagaan, ang kalayaan ay dapat ipaglaban, at ang pagkakaisa ay dapat isabuhay sa bawat henerasyon. . Sa paglipas ng apat na dekada, nawa’y manatiling buhay ang diwa ng pagkakaisa at tapang na siyang nagbigay-daan sa isang mas makatarungan at malayang lipunan.

Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us
- Hebrews 12: 1

Today, we celebrate All Saints' Day, a special day for all saints—those known and unknown who entered heaven. It's a holy day for the remarkable individuals who led faithful lives, serves as a light for those who lost, and gives courage to stand still. Somehow, in their past lives, they had lived harshly, feeling lost and doubtful about God, but in the end, they chose to walk with God.

As we celebrate this holy day, it reminds us that saints are humans too; they need to work hard to achieve what they want and experience the cruelty of the people around them, yet their faith in God remains. Life is not all about happiness or a shortcut but also pain and a never-ending race, yet Saints finished the race because they have perseverance, keep the faith, and have eyes for God. For us to finish our own race, we should start to keep our eyes on God only.

𝗥𝗲𝗽𝘂𝗯𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗮 𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝘂𝘄𝗮𝘆𝗮: 𝗔𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝗼𝗯𝘆𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗚𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺 𝘀𝗮 𝗣𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗼

Sa isang bansang may saganang likas na yaman, mas masagana pa rin ang yaman ng mga buwaya. Hindi sila nasa ilog, kundi nasa opisina—nakabarong, nakangiti, at may signature ballpen na pangpirma ng ghost project.

Ang buwaya sa Republika ng Buwaya ay hindi basta-basta. Minsan walang diploma, pero marami ang koneksyon, at higit sa lahat, may talent sa disappearing acts—lalo na pagdating sa pondo. Isang iglap, ang budget para sa flood control, p**f! napunta sa bagong kotse. Ang pondo para sa eskwelahan, abrakadabra! naging luxury bag. Tunay na buwaya!

Ang mga buwaya rito ay may sariling ecosystem. May contractor na kaibigan, may auditor na bulag, at may botante na pagod na. Ang sistema? Well-oiled. Parang makina ng ATM—pero baliktad. Hindi naglalabas ng pera, kundi sumisipsip.

Kapag tinanong mo kung nasaan ang accountability, sasabihin nila: “Under review.” Kapag hinanap mo ang SALN, sasagot sila: “Classified.” At kapag nag-ingay ang kabataan, tatawagin silang “masyadong idealistic.” Kasi sa Republika ng Buwaya, ang ideal ay ‘yung tahimik, sunud-sunuran, at marunong makisama.

Pero huwag kang mag-alala. May mga bagong buwaya na rin—mas bata, mas tech-savvy, at mas creative sa pag-spin ng narrative. Hindi na raw ito korapsyon, kundi “creative budgeting.” Hindi na ghost project, kundi “aspirational infrastructure.”

At sa tuwing may scandal, may press release agad: “We take this matter seriously.” Pero ang tanging seryoso ay ang pagtakbo nila sa susunod na eleksyon.

Sa Republika ng Buwaya, ang tunay na endangered species ay hindi ang buwaya—kundi ang integridad at dangal ng masa.
