On August 20, 2026, personnel of Regional Maritime Unit 4A (RMU4A), led by PCOL RICARDO I. DALMACIA, Chief, RMU4A, participated in the Coconut Tree Planting Activity held at Barangay Mahabang Parang, San Luis, Batangas, organized by the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), spearheaded by Mr. Alexis P. Mojica, Division Chief, PCA Batangas/Cavite.

Also present and participated in the activity were Mr. Bibiano C. Concibido, Jr., Regional Manager III, PCA Region IV-A; Dr. Dexter R. Buted, Administrator, Philippine Coconut Authority; and Dr. Alvin S. Mojica, Commissioner, DILG-NAPOLCOM Center, together with personnel from the PCA Agriculturist.

A total of two hundred (200) coconut seedlings were planted, highlighting the importance of environmental protection, sustainable coconut production, and active community participation.

The activity reflected the PNP’s commitment in strengthening inter-agency cooperation and community partnerships in support of environmental protection and sustainable development.

PNP ENVIRONMENTAL DRIVE IN WESTERN VISAYAS YIELDS 204 ARRESTS, ₱16.18M IN RECOVERIES

The Philippine National Police (PNP) continues to strengthen its campaign to protect the country’s forests and marine resources, as sustained operations in Western Visayas resulted in the arrest of 204 individuals and the recovery or confiscation of environmental resources and fishing-related items valued at more than ₱16.18 million from August 1 to 15, 2026.

During the period, police units across the region conducted 187 operations against violations involving forest resources and illegal fishing. These resulted in the recovery of lumber, charcoal, fish, and various fishing-related equipment and paraphernalia.

Of the total operations, 118 targeted illegal logging, leading to 58 arrests and the recovery of lumber and charcoal valued at more than ₱384,000.00. Meanwhile, 69 operations against illegal fishing resulted in 146 arrests and the recovery or confiscation of fish and fishing-related items valued at more than ₱15.8 million.

The PNP said the continuing campaign is focused on enforcing environmental and fisheries laws while helping protect legitimate livelihoods and the natural resources that sustain communities.

Chief PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the police response must remain firm but responsible.

“May mga komunidad na umaasa sa ating likas-yaman, kaya kailangan natin itong protektahan. We will continue to enforce the law firmly, but always in a fair, responsible, and respectful manner. Our goal is to protect our natural resources while also respecting the rights and livelihood of the communities we serve.”

FAKE COP’s ROAD RAGE ENDS IN ARREST

The Philippine National Police, under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested a 28-year-old businessman who allegedly posed as a police officer following a road rage incident and confrontation with traffic enforcers in Parañaque City on August 17, 2026.

The suspect, alias “Kim,” a 28-year-old businessman and resident of Parañaque City, allegedly chased another motorist during a road rage confrontation while shouting offensive and insulting remarks. He later stopped near five traffic enforcers at the corner of Doña Soledad Avenue and France Street in Barangay Don Bosco and allegedly introduced himself as a police officer.

The suspect, who allegedly emitted a strong odor of alcohol, got out of his vehicle and challenged the traffic enforcers to a fistfight while shouting vulgar statements and refusing their instructions to calm down. The enforcers restrained him, while the motorist involved in the earlier confrontation arrived and positively identified him.

Personnel of the Don Bosco Police Sub Station, Parañaque City Police Station, then verified his identity. However, he failed to present any police identification card, badge, or official document to support his claim of being a law enforcement officer.

The suspect was brought to the police station for documentation and referred to the Investigation and Detective Management Section for inquest proceedings. Complaints for Usurpation of Authority under Article 177, Disobedience to a Person in Authority under Article 151, Unjust Vexation under Article 287, and Alarms and Scandals under Article 155 of the Revised Penal Code, as well as Grave Threats, are being prepared against him.

The arrest highlights Enhanced Managing Police Operations, a key priority under the PNP Focused Agenda, a transformation framework aimed at strengthening police operations and accountability in addressing public safety concerns.

“Public safety depends on everyone respecting the rules that govern our communities. We will remain vigilant in preventing confrontations from escalating and in keeping public spaces safe,” PGEN Nartatez Jr. said.

CAGAYAN VALLEY COPS SCORE WITH REGION 2’s NO. 9 MOST WANTED IN ESTAFA CASE

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., secured the arrest of Region 2’s No. 9 Regional Most Wanted Person for Syndicated Estafa in Allacapan, Cagayan, on August 17, 2026.

The wanted person, known by the alias “Prank,” 48, female, Filipino, married, a college graduate, and a housewife from Barangay Utan, Allacapan, was arrested by the Allacapan Police Station as lead unit, with support from the Regional Intelligence Unit 2, PIT Cagayan North, 203rd Maneuver Company of the Regional Mobile Force Battalion 2, and 1st MFP of the 2nd CPMFC.

The arrest was carried out by virtue of two Warrants of Arrest issued by the Regional Trial Court Branch 7 in Aparri, Cagayan. The first warrant was for Syndicated Estafa under Article 315, Paragraph 2(A) of the Revised Penal Code, with no recommended bail, while the second was for violation of Republic Act No. 11765, or the Financial Products and Services Consumer Protection Act.

The arrested wanted person is currently under the custody of the Allacapan Police Station for documentation and proper disposition before being turned over to the issuing court.

PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. stressed that the PNP will remain firm in pursuing individuals sought by the courts. “We will remain relentless in locating wanted persons and ensuring that every arrest is conducted lawfully and with full respect for due process,” he said.

PNP INTERCEPTS ₱2.75M SUSPECTED SMUGGLED CI******ES IN COTABATO CITY, 3 ARRESTED

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has intensified its efforts against the movement of suspected smuggled goods following the interception of 110 boxes of suspected smuggled ci******es valued at approximately ₱2.75 million during a checkpoint operation in Cotabato City on August 18, 2026.

Personnel of the Marine Battalion Regional Network-6 and the 26th Marine Company conducted the checkpoint along Diversion Road in Barangay Poblacion 8, where three individuals, including one minor, were taken into police custody for proper documentation and disposition. The ci******es were reportedly being transported aboard an Isuzu Wing Van, which was also secured by the authorities.

Chief PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the operation reflects the importance of consistent field monitoring and coordination in addressing the movement of goods that may have entered the country outside lawful channels.

“Ang mahalaga dito, hindi lang tayo nakahuli ng kargamento. We are also making sure that the proper process is followed from interception, documentation, hanggang sa pag-turn over ng ebidensya. That is how we make enforcement both effective and accountable,” PGen Nartatez said.

12 YEARS ON THE RUN: TUGUEGARAO BROTHERS FINALLY FACE MURDER CASE

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., has secured the arrest of two brothers from Tuguegarao City, Cagayan, who had been wanted for murder and evaded authorities for about 12 years.

The two Filipino male security guards, aged 41 and 43, were separately arrested in Pasig City and Marikina City on August 14 and 15, 2026, respectively, by Malate Police Station 9 of the Manila Police District and the Iguig Municipal Police Station (MPS) Tracker Team.

The first suspect, 41, had been using the alias Jose Pascual Adduru, while the 43-year-old second suspect used the alias Orlando Adduru. Both allegedly adopted different names and fabricated identities to sever their links to their previous backgrounds and evade authorities.

The first arrest took place along Eulogio Amang Rodriguez Avenue in Pasig City on August 14, followed by the apprehension of the second suspect at Barangay Malanday, Marikina City, on August 15.

Both arrests were made by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest issued the Regional Trial Court, Second Judicial Region, Branch 2, Tuguegarao City, with no bail recommended.

Both suspects are currently under the custody of Malate Police Station 9 pending the return of the warrants to the court of origin and issuance of the corresponding Commitment Order.

“These arrests show that a long period of evasion does not erase a standing warrant or lessen the police resolve to locate persons sought by the courts. We will sustain focused tracking efforts and ensure that arrests are conducted lawfully and with full respect for due process,” said PGEN Nartatez.

“Hindi hadlang ang 12 taon para mahanap ang mga taong hinahanap ng batas. Sa tamang pagtutok at tiyaga, darating ang panahon na haharap din sila sa proseso ng batas,” he added.

PNP ENSURES SAFE RECOVERY OF CORRODED AMMUNITION IN CLARK

The Philippine National Police (PNP) continues to strengthen its readiness to respond to potentially hazardous discoveries following the recovery of corroded ammunition at a construction site in the Clark Freeport Zone, Mabalacat City, Pampanga on August 17, 2026.

Personnel of the PNP Explosive Ordnance Disposal and Canine Group (EOD/K9) responded to the site after the items were discovered. Following an assessment of the area, trained EOD personnel safely secured the recovered ammunition and transferred the items to a temporary facility for proper safekeeping and disposition.

Chief PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the response demonstrates the importance of having properly trained personnel who can act promptly when potentially hazardous items are found.

“Hindi lang bilis ang kailangan sa ganitong sitwasyon. Kailangan tama ang assessment at tama rin ang handling. That is why we make sure our trained personnel are ready to respond and manage these situations properly,” PGen Nartatez said.

The Chief PNP also reminded the public to exercise caution when encountering suspected ammunition, explosives, or other unfamiliar items that may pose a safety risk.

“Kung may makita kayong ganitong bagay, huwag na nating subukang galawin, buksan, o ilipat. Lumayo muna, keep others away from the area, at agad ipagbigay-alam sa pinakamalapit na police station o awtoridad. Mas ligtas kapag trained personnel ang humawak at magsuri,” PGen Nartatez said.

PNP ARRESTS SIX MOST WANTED PERSONS FACING MURDER, R**E CASES IN NATIONWIDE OPERATIONS

Six high-value wanted persons were arrested in separate police operations across the country on August 18, 2026, as the Philippine National Police (PNP) continued its nationwide efforts to locate individuals with standing warrants and ensure that they face the appropriate legal proceedings.

The operations resulted in the arrest of six regional-level Most Wanted Persons, including the No. 1 Most Wanted Person in the Cordillera Administrative Region, the No. 2 in Isabela, and the No. 5 in Agusan del Sur. Three other wanted persons listed among the No. 7 and No. 10 in the Soccsksargen area were also apprehended, including one arrested in Maguindanao del Sur through coordinated operations involving police units from different areas.

In Dolores, Abra, authorities arrested the No. 1 Most Wanted Person in the Cordillera region, who was facing 39 counts of Qualified R**e of a Minor. The arrest was carried out through a warrant of arrest and coordinated efforts involving local police, the PNP Special Action Force, Regional Mobile Force units, and intelligence personnel.

In Cauayan City, Isabela, the No. 2 Most Wanted Person in the province was served a warrant for Murder while under custody at the Cauayan City District Jail. In Trento, Agusan del Sur, the No. 5 regional wanted person was arrested in connection with two counts of Qualified R**e of a Minor.

Three other wanted persons were apprehended in Maguindanao del Sur, Sultan Kudarat, and Cotabato. These included a No. 7 Most Wanted Person in PRO 12 wanted for two counts of Murder, and two No. 10 wanted persons in Sultan Kudarat and Cotabato, facing cases for Murder and three counts of R**e, respectively.

The warrants served in the reported cases carried no bail recommendation, based on the court-issued processes. The arrested persons were placed under the custody of the appropriate police or custodial authorities pending the next stages of their respective cases.

Chief PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the operations demonstrate the value of sustained police work and coordination, particularly when dealing with wanted persons who may have remained outside the reach of authorities.

“We remain focused on doing the job right—from locating persons with standing warrants to carrying out the arrest properly. May proseso tayong sinusunod, at tungkulin nating tiyaking maayos ang bawat hakbang habang hinahayaan ang korte na magpasya sa kaso,” PGen Nartatez said.

PNP ANTI-DRUG DRIVE NETS OVER ₱227 MILLION IN ILLEGAL DRUGS, 12 ARRESTED IN CORDILLERA

The Philippine National Police (PNP) intensified its campaign against illegal drugs in the Cordillera region, resulting in the seizure of more than ₱227 million worth of illegal drugs and the arrest of 12 individuals in operations conducted from August 10 to 16, 2026.

Police units in the Cordillera Administrative Region carried out 17 operations during the period, including ma*****na eradication activities, buy-bust operations, implementation of warrants, and police responses. These efforts led to the recovery of approximately 1.12 million fully grown ma*****na plants, 50,000 seedlings, 150 grams of dried ma*****na leaves and fruiting tops, and 8.49 grams of suspected shabu, with a combined estimated value of ₱227,015,732 based on standard drug pricing.

The 12 arrested individuals are now facing appropriate charges under Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The operations were carried out by police units across the region, with significant recoveries recorded in Kalinga, Mountain Province, Baguio City, Apayao, and Benguet.

Chief PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the results show the importance of staying consistent in the fight against illegal drugs, especially in areas where ma*****na cultivation continues to be a concern.

“Malaking bagay na napipigilan natin ang mga ito bago pa makarating sa ating mga komunidad. Pero hindi dito nagtatapos ang trabaho. Tuloy lang tayo, kasi bawat operasyon may katumbas na mga pamilyang pinoprotektahan natin,” PGen Nartatez said.

PNP SEIZES ₱2.2-M WORTH OF ILLEGAL FISHING ITEMS, APPREHENDS 21 IN ONE DAY

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., intensified its enforcement of fishery laws as Police Regional Office 8 (PRO-8) apprehended 21 individuals in separate anti-illegal fishing operations across Leyte, Southern Leyte, and Biliran on August 16, 2026.

In Leyte, three individuals were apprehended in separate operations in the seawaters of Matalom, Isabel, and Bato. The operations resulted in the confiscation of fishing boats, spear guns, fishing nets, compressors, flashlights, and assorted illegally caught fish with a combined estimated value of ₱67,750.00.

In Southern Leyte, three individuals were apprehended in separate operations in Limasawa, Pintuyan, and Saint Bernard for violations of local fishery ordinances, including fishing without the required license and the use of unregistered boats and fishing equipment. The confiscated items had a combined estimated value of ₱14,100.00 and were placed under the custody of the concerned police stations and local authorities.

Meanwhile, in Biliran, 15 individuals were apprehended during three anti-illegal fishing operations in the territorial waters of Culaba. The operations yielded fishing boats, motor engines, fishing nets, and assorted illegally caught fish with a combined estimated value of ₱2,129,200.00, which were turned over to the appropriate authorities for proper disposition.

Overall, the one-day operations resulted in the apprehension of 21 individuals and the confiscation of fishing boats, fishing equipment, and illegally caught fish with a combined value of ₱2,211,050.00.

The operations were conducted by personnel of the concerned municipal police stations through seaborne patrols and enforcement activities, in coordination with local government units, Bantay-Dagat personnel, and municipal agriculture offices.

PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. stressed that protecting the country’s marine resources requires firm enforcement against unlawful fishing activities. “Our coastal waters are valuable public resources, and the PNP will take decisive action against those who disregard fishery laws.”

He also underscored the importance of protecting the livelihood of legitimate fisherfolk. “Pangalagaan natin ang ating karagatan dahil dito nakasalalay ang kabuhayan ng maraming mangingisda.”
