Bilang bahagi ng patuloy na pagpapalakas ng pagtugon sa HIV sa lalawigan, isinagawa ang Stakeholder Engagement and Harmonization Meeting for HIV Program noong Hunyo 3–4, 2026 sa Queen Margarette Hotel, Brgy. Domoit, Lucena City.

While official HIV monitoring data are often dominated by cases involving men having s*x with men, Department of Health records show an increasing number of mother-to-child transmission cases in recent years. https://tinyurl.com/34pprcj8 | via ONE News

Being UNDETECTABLE does NOT mean a person will test HIV negative.

“Undetectable” refers to the viral load — the amount of HIV in the blood. When treatment is working well, the viral load is reduced to levels so low that standard viral load tests cannot detect it.

Viral load tests measure how much HIV is in the blood and are used to monitor how well treatment is working.

❗HIV tests are different.

Most HIV tests detect HIV antibodies — the body’s immune response to HIV infection. These antibodies remain in the body for life, even when the viral load is undetectable.

That is why HIV antibody tests remain positive even when viral load is undetectable, due to the continued presence of HIV antibodies in the body.

♦️HIV tests are used for diagnosis, while viral load tests are used to monitor treatment and viral suppression.

Understanding this difference helps reduce confusion and stigma.
